This opportunity is in Michelin's American Synthetic Rubber Company (ASRC) Plant in Louisville, KY. THE OPPORTUNITY
This role is for a Mechanical / NDE inspector who will inspect vessels, tanks, and piping systems, and interpret that data in accordance with applicable codes. This position will interface with multiple businesses within Louisville, KY ASRC Operations. This role will be part of a diverse team, and is critical to planned and scheduled outages, sometimes experiencing times of high workloads including call-ins.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
  • Perform scheduled and unscheduled inspections and non-destructive testing of process equipment. (Pressure Vessels, Tanks, Boilers, Above Ground Storage Tanks, Heat Exchangers, Piping Systems, and Pressure Relief Valves.) With a primary focus on process piping inspections
  • Complete confined space entries for internal vessel and tank inspections
  • Perform elevated work to inspect pipelines, and columns
  • Inspect glass lined equipment
  • Inspect weldments for integrity as part new construction for in-house maintenance as well as contractors
  • Inspect new and existing coatings
  • Inspect fiberglass reinforced process equipment
  • Comply with all safety regulations (state, local, federal and Michelin NA.)
  • Complete inspection reports and enter all documentation into the mechanical integrity database
  • Inter service request and maintenance work orders as required for scheduling MI inspections and corrective actions
  • Work with Senior Mechanical Inspector and Reliability Engineers to evaluate complex findings
  • Reporting major deficiencies immediately to ensure resolution
  • React rapidly to evolving and dynamic scheduling situations
  • Provide engineering support for complex projects
  • Project management for assigned initiatives

WHAT YOU WILL BRING
  • The ability to carry up to 40 lbs.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience petrochemical plant, mechanical integrity or similar experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications, such as Word and Excel, and possesses the ability to learn new systems quickly.
  • Desired certifications: API-510, API-570, API-653, CWI, PT level II, UT level II, API-SIFE
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills are required.
  • Must have strong multi-tasking, problem solving and time management skills.
  • Demonstrate leadership skills - inspire others and lead them through influence.
  • A self-starter who can identify, prioritize and accomplish multiple tasks.
  • Willingness to accept and complete additional training for a progressive career growth in MI
  • Must be willing and able to work in such environments wearing safety equipment, such as respirators, hard hats, earplugs, goggles, safety harness and steel-toed shoes with or without accommodation.
  • Must be willing and able to work in such environments with frequent bending, reaching, and lifting with or without accommodation.
  • Must be willing and able to work in such environments working in tight or closed-in spaces with or without accommodation.
