Job description

Odyssey has an exciting new opportunity for a Senior Avionics Integration Engineer supporting the Helicopter Division (AFLCMC/WIH) at Wright Patterson AFB, OH. This division supports selected helicopter programs including the HH-60W Combat Rescue Helicopter (CRH) and the MH-139 and has a mission to rapidly deliver and field new and updated rotary wing aircraft.


Duties include, but not limited to: 

  • Assist in providing rotary wing avionics engineering, consultation, and support to design, develop, manufacture, integrate, test, and deploy supportable airborne weapon systems, including integrated avionics, embedded computer systems, software, and electronic maintenance systems.
  • Provide integration expertise/support, as necessary, to the anti-tamper compliance and Information Assurance (IA) Assessment & Authorization (A&A) personnel and process.
  • Assist the Government by providing knowledge and guidance and producing artifacts where required in the following areas: systems integration, OSS&E; airworthiness certification per MIL-HDBK-516C expanded; safety per MIL-STD-882; and DAFI 63-1201, Life Cycle Systems Engineering.
  • Serve as a rotary wing avionics systems integration engineer with particular emphasis in tactical data link systems, position location, display systems, digital interphone systems and identification capabilities for application to military operations.
  • Communicate with other engineering functions including but not limited to structures, crew systems, Electromagnetic Interference (EMI), Reliability & Maintainability (R&M), manufacturing, and system safety.
  • Support information management certification and accreditation to include development of IA controls, test approaches, and risk identification and mitigation to obtain an interim authority to operate or authority to operate.
  • Apply knowledge of and support engineering efforts to include Functional Configuration Audit (FCA) and the Physical Configuration Audit (PCA), aircraft and/or simulator certifications, technical evaluation of Contractor efforts, environmental and hazardous material management, system safety, risk management, deficiency report resolution, in addition to assisting with the integration of the system mission planning system and periodic update of geospatial data.

  • Master’s or Doctorate Degree in a related field AND and an ABET accredited Bachelor's degree in engineering AND 10 years of experience in the respective technical / professional discipline being performed, 5 years of which must be in the DoD
  • OR an ABET-accredited Bachelor’s Degree in engineering and 12 years of experience in the respective technical/professional discipline being performed, 5 of which must be in the DoD
