Linfield University is seeking an experienced, strategic, and collaborative marketing leader to serve as our next Director of Marketing. This is an exciting opportunity to lead integrated marketing initiatives that advance enrollment growth, strengthen institutional reputation, and elevate one of Oregon's premier private universities.

Reporting to the Chief Enrollment Management & Marketing Officer (CEMMO), the Director of Marketing provides leadership for the university's integrated marketing strategy, translating institutional priorities into measurable campaigns that inspire prospective students, engage alumni and donors, and strengthen Linfield's brand across regional and national audiences.

The Director leads a talented multidisciplinary marketing team and oversees paid media, digital marketing, website strategy, content development, social media, campaign analytics, and marketing operations. This position works collaboratively across the university to ensure marketing efforts support enrollment, advancement, academic programs, athletics, student engagement, and institutional storytelling.

What You'll DoLead Strategic Marketing Initiatives
  • Execute the university's annual marketing strategy in partnership with the Chief Enrollment Management & Marketing Officer.
  • Translate institutional priorities into integrated marketing campaigns that support enrollment growth, brand awareness, and strategic objectives.
  • Establish annual marketing goals, implementation plans, and measurable key performance indicators.
  • Provide strategic recommendations informed by campaign performance, market research, competitive analysis, and emerging marketing trends.
Drive Enrollment & Brand Marketing
  • Partner closely with the Director of Admission to develop integrated recruitment marketing campaigns for undergraduate, transfer, graduate, online, and continuing education programs.
  • Lead the university's paid media strategy across digital, search, social, streaming, display, print, outdoor advertising, and emerging platforms.
  • Optimize marketing investments to maximize inquiries, applications, enrollment, and return on investment.
  • Collaborate with creative partners, faculty, and admissions leadership to develop compelling print and digital recruitment materials.
  • Work closely with the Director of Strategic Communications to ensure consistent messaging, visual identity, and brand standards across all marketing channels.
  • Provide strategic oversight of the university website and digital ecosystem, improving user experience, accessibility, search visibility, and conversion performance.
Lead Marketing Operations
  • Supervise, mentor, and develop a high-performing marketing team responsible for creative services, digital marketing, web management, social media, and project management.
  • Manage the university's annual marketing budget, paid media investments, agency partnerships, and vendor relationships.
  • Develop efficient workflows, project management systems, and departmental priorities that ensure timely, high-quality execution.
  • Monitor campaign performance, audience insights, enrollment metrics, and marketing analytics to continuously improve results.
  • Provide regular performance reporting and strategic updates to university leadership.
Build Strong Campus Partnerships
  • Serve as the university's central marketing partner for departments across campus, including Enrollment Management, University Advancement, Strategic Communications, Academic Affairs, Athletics, Student Affairs, Alumni Relations, and the Office of the President.
  • Foster collaborative relationships that align marketing resources with institutional priorities and maximize impact.
  • Support university-wide initiatives through thoughtful planning, consultation, and integrated marketing strategies that strengthen the Linfield brand.
