What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an Integration Developer, and why are they important?

To thrive as an Integration Developer, you need strong programming skills (often in Java, Python, or similar languages), experience with APIs, and a solid understanding of data formats like XML and JSON, typically supported by a degree in computer science or related field. Familiarity with integration platforms (such as MuleSoft, Dell Boomi, or Apache Camel) and knowledge of cloud services and middleware systems are common technical requirements. Strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and effective communication are valuable soft skills that help manage complex integration projects and collaborate with cross-functional teams. These skills are vital to ensure seamless data flow, system interoperability, and the successful delivery of integration solutions in dynamic IT environments.

How does an Integration Developer typically collaborate with other teams during a large-scale system implementation?

Integration Developers play a key role in bridging gaps between different technical teams, such as software engineers, database administrators, and business analysts. During a large-scale system implementation, they work closely with these groups to understand data flows, define integration points, and ensure that various systems communicate seamlessly. Regular meetings, code reviews, and shared documentation are common practices to ensure alignment and address any integration challenges early on. Effective communication and a collaborative mindset are crucial for successfully delivering complex integration solutions.

What are Integration Developers?

Integration Developers are IT professionals who design, build, and maintain systems that allow different software applications to work together seamlessly. They create and manage APIs, middleware, and other integration solutions to ensure data flows smoothly between platforms within an organization. Company Overview:
At Integrated Engineering, our mission is to help unlock the thrill of driving for everyone, no matter their level of technical ability. Whether during a daily commute, a leisurely drive up the canyon, or a trip to the store, we believe the drive there should be an experience.
Job Summary:
We are looking for engineers who are passionate about solving technical challenges and creating products that improve the driving experience. As a Product Engineer, you will be part of creating aftermarket performance products from concept through production, combining design, testing, validation, and real-world vehicle development. This role offers the opportunity to see your ideas become physical products that are installed on customer vehicles around the world.
Responsibilities and Essential Duties:
  • Uphold rigorous engineering standards and simulation methodologies throughout the development flow
  • Analyze product designs using a combination of simulation, engineering tools, and real world testing to improve and confirm performance, durability, and fitment
  • Create, modify, and validate 3D CAD models, engineering drawings, and technical documentation to support product development and manufacturing
  • Design and perform product validation activities, including prototyping, fitment testing, data collection, and dyno support as needed
  • Maintain emissions compliance requirements in all products
  • Establish upfront design requirements for component clearances, material selections, and manufacturing tolerances to guide the product development flow
  • Coordinate with vendors and manufacturing partners to support production readiness, resolve technical issues, and improve processes
  • Collaborate with internal teams to validate product fitment, installation, vehicle compatibility, and identify restrictions in factory hardware
  • Research existing product patents on novel performance layouts or unique component designs to ensure new concepts do not conflict with existing intellectual property
  • Maintain accurate engineering documentation and product development records
  • Participate in kaizen, lean, and other continuous improvement efforts that improve quality, efficiency, and customer satisfaction
  • Promote and reinforce company values, engineering standards, and continuous improvement behaviors across the organization
  • Lead troubleshooting efforts for manufacturing defects or field issues, using a PDCA approach
  • Support engineering and shop operations as needed and perform other duties as assigned

Preferred Skills and Competencies:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field. Equivalent experience considered.
  • Advanced proficiency with SolidWorks 3D CAD, including FEA and CFD simulation tools.
  • Knowledge of automotive systems, including engine, electrical, and chassis components
  • Clear understanding of physical production methods, including machining, casting, and fabrication, as well as automotive material properties.
  • Proficient with 3D laser scanning, simulation tools, and automotive fabrication processes
  • Working knowledge of lean principles such as 5S, flow, 7 wastes, and continuous improvement
  • Ability to self-manage multiple ongoing product tasks and adapt quickly if priorities change.
  • Demonstrated passion for automotive performance, motorsports, or hands-on vehicle modification
  • Ability to communicate professionally and work effectively with engineering, manufacturing, vendors, and cross-functional teams

Why Join Integrated Engineering:
  • Develop products that are installed on enthusiast vehicles around the world
  • Work directly with vehicles, prototypes, and testing equipment
  • Collaborate with a passionate team of engineers, technicians, and automotive enthusiasts
  • Medical, dental, vision, generous PTO, and 401(k) with company match

IE Values and Expected Behaviors:
Team members are expected to support the organization's vision and culture by following the employee handbook and exemplifying the company's core values:
