General Summary
As a Clinical Intern, you will assist in the treatment and care of patients, providing support tailored to their age and developmental needs. Your responsibilities will include helping patients with daily living activities such as hygiene, grooming, and mobility, as well as monitoring nutritional intake and assisting with feeding when necessary.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care including bathing, oral hygiene, skin care, and repositioning.
- Assist with physical activities like ambulation, range of motion exercises, and transfers.
- Support nutritional needs by preparing patients for meals, assisting with feeding, and documenting intake.
- Collect specimens, perform vital signs, and document intake and output accurately.
- Perform technical nursing procedures under supervision, including oxygen therapy, catheter insertion/removal, wound care, dressing changes, and nasopharyngeal suctioning.
- Conduct patient assessments and communicate closely with the primary nurse.
- Educate patients and families in collaboration with nursing staff.
- Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of all patient care activities.
Education
Currently enrolled in a nursing program or completed nursing education but not yet licensed.
Experience
This is an entry-level position; no prior experience is required.
