What is insurance testing?

Insurance testing refers to the process of evaluating and validating software applications used by insurance companies to ensure they function correctly and comply with industry standards. This testing covers various aspects such as policy administration, claims processing, underwriting, billing, and regulatory compliance. The goal is to identify any defects or issues before the software is deployed, ensuring smooth operations and minimizing risks for both the company and its customers.

What is the difference between Insurance Testing vs Insurance Underwriting?

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an Insurance Tester, and why are they important?

To thrive as an Insurance Tester, you need strong analytical abilities, a solid understanding of insurance business processes, and experience with software testing methodologies, often backed by a degree in IT or a related field. Familiarity with test management tools like JIRA, automation frameworks such as Selenium, and knowledge of insurance-specific systems are typically required. Professionals in Insurance Testing often encounter challenges such as navigating complex policy rules, managing frequent regulatory changes, and ensuring data accuracy across multiple systems.
