Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Quality Engineering leader to define and drive the quality strategy for our Property & Casualty Insurance technology portfolio. This role will lead the transformation from traditional QA practices to a modern, automation-first, AI-enabled Quality Engineering model across Guidewire Cloud platforms and associated digital, integration, and data ecosystems.

The successful candidate will be responsible for establishing enterprise quality standards, governance, automation frameworks, test data strategies, and release quality controls across Policy Administration, Billing, Claims, Digital, Data, and Integration platforms. This leader will partner closely with business leaders, architecture teams, product technology leaders, DevOps teams, and delivery partners to ensure continuous improvement in quality, speed, and reliability.

The role requires hands-on technical expertise, strong leadership capabilities, and deep insurance domain knowledge to drive quality outcomes across multiple programs, teams, and vendors.

Key Responsibilities

Quality Engineering Strategy & Governance

  • Define and execute the Quality Engineering (QE) strategy for Property & Casualty Insurance platforms.
  • Establish quality standards, testing methodologies, governance processes, and release readiness criteria.
  • Define quality gates, defect prevention practices, release health indicators, and go/no-go decision frameworks.
  • Develop and communicate quality metrics, dashboards, and executive reporting that provide visibility into product and release health.

Test Automation & Continuous Testing

  • Lead the design, implementation, and evolution of enterprise automation frameworks supporting UI, API, integration, regression, and data testing.
  • Establish continuous testing practices integrated into CI/CD pipelines.
  • Drive adoption of risk-based testing approaches to optimize coverage and accelerate delivery.
  • Promote reusable automation assets and engineering best practices across teams.

AI-Enabled Quality Engineering

  • Champion the adoption of AI and Generative AI capabilities within the testing lifecycle.
  • Implement AI-assisted test generation, requirement-to-test traceability, defect analysis, coverage optimization, and self-healing automation.
  • Evaluate emerging quality engineering technologies and integrate innovative solutions into the QE operating model.

Delivery & Test Management

  • Provide overall test delivery leadership across large-scale transformation programs and initiatives.
  • Oversee functional, integration, end-to-end, API, system, regression, performance, operability, and deployment validation testing.
  • Manage testing dependencies, risks, issues, environments, and stakeholder expectations across multiple workstreams.
  • Ensure timely status reporting, escalation management, and successful execution of release activities.

Engineering Enablement

  • Define enterprise strategies for test data management, service virtualization, and environment management.
  • Establish processes for automation governance, framework maintenance, and engineering excellence.
  • Drive integration of testing capabilities into DevOps and cloud delivery pipelines.

Leadership & Capability Development

  • Build and lead a high-performing Quality Engineering practice, including onshore, offshore, and vendor teams.
  • Develop career paths, certification programs, capability frameworks, and communities of practice.
  • Coach Quality Engineering leaders, automation architects, and test managers.
  • Govern managed testing services and vendor performance to ensure quality, productivity, and value realization.

Insurance Domain Quality Assurance

  • Ensure comprehensive testing coverage for:
    • Policy lifecycle management
    • Billing and payments
    • Rating and pricing engines
    • Underwriting rules
    • Forms and document generation
    • Digital customer experiences
    • Integration ecosystems and data services

Required Qualifications

Experience

  • 10+ years of experience in Quality Assurance and Quality Engineering, including enterprise-scale testing and automation.
  • 5+ years in a senior Quality Engineering leadership role managing large transformation programs.
  • Proven experience leading Quality Engineering teams across multiple programs, business units, and delivery organizations.
  • Demonstrated success managing distributed, hybrid, and offshore delivery models.

Insurance & Guidewire Expertise

  • Deep Property & Casualty Insurance domain expertise.
  • Hands-on experience with Guidewire Cloud Platform, including PolicyCenter and/or BillingCenter.
  • Guidewire ACE Certification in PolicyCenter, BillingCenter, or equivalent Guidewire certifications preferred.
  • Strong understanding of insurance business processes, rating, underwriting, policy administration, billing, and payments.

Technical Skills

  • Expertise in test automation frameworks and tools, including:
    • Playwright
    • Selenium
    • Cypress
    • Cucumber / BDD
    • Karate
    • Postman
    • SOAP UI
    • Rest Assured
  • Strong experience with API, integration, and end-to-end automation.
  • Deep knowledge of test data management and service virtualization solutions.

  • Strong experience with cloud-native delivery and DevOps platforms, including:

  • Experience integrating automated testing into cloud deployment pipelines.

Leadership & Communication

  • Exceptional stakeholder management and executive communication skills.
  • Strong analytical, strategic, and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Ability to influence senior technology and business leaders.
  • Proven ability to scale, mentor, and lead teams of Quality Engineers, Automation Architects, and Test Leads.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience leading Guidewire Cloud transformation programs from QE side.
  • Hands-on experience with AI/Generative AI testing solutions and modern quality engineering platforms.
  • Knowledge of enterprise test data management tools such as CA Test Data Manager (CA TDM).
  • Experience implementing service virtualization platforms such as Parasoft or equivalent solutions.
  • Prior experience within large financial services or insurance organizations.
  • Experience establishing enterprise Quality Engineering Centers of Excellence (CoE).
