Job description

CopperPoint has an exciting opportunity for a Product Owner New Business. In this role, you will define, prioritize, and deliver business capabilities that leverage technology to drive strategic growth and operational excellence. As the owner of the end-to-end squad strategy, roadmap, and value realization, you will ensure solutions align with enterprise objectives, regulatory requirements, and evolving customer needs. Serving as the critical link between business, technology, data, and operations, you will lead cross-functional collaboration to deliver innovative, customer-focused capabilities that create measurable business outcomes and support the continued evolution of our New Business experience.

Job responsibilities: 

  • Accountable for defining and executing the squad vision, strategy, and multi-year roadmap aligned to enterprise and operating model priorities. 
  • Own translation of business strategy into clearly defined objectives and measurable key results (OKRs). 
  • Lead and maintain an agile, adaptable squad capable of responding to market, regulatory, and performance changes. 
  • Own the end-to-end lifecycle of product capabilities, from intake through delivery, adoption, and optimization. 
  • Ensure seamless integration and alignment across adjacent product domains and end-to-end value streams. 
  • Drive consistent and high-quality customer and operational experiences across all journeys. 
  • Deliver measurable business outcomes and value realization aligned to defined objectives. 
  • Own and prioritize the product backlog, ensuring alignment with business value, risk, and compliance requirements. 
  • Balance delivery across feature development, technical debt, regulatory mandates, and operational stability. 
  • Ensure delivery readiness through clear, timely user stories with defined requirements, acceptance criteria, and business value. 
  • Serve as the primary business owner and decision authority for the product, ensuring alignment across key stakeholders. 
  • Partner closely with technical product management, engineering, architecture, UX/design, and data & analytics to deliver scalable solutions. 
  • Accountable for agile delivery of high-quality, scalable, and compliant product capabilities. 
  • Influence architecture and platform decisions to support long-term product and enterprise scalability. 
  • Ensure auditability, traceability, and governance are embedded within product design and delivery. 
  • Foster and enable a data-driven culture in partnership with analytics teams.
  • Drive continuous improvement across product performance, delivery effectiveness, and team outcomes. 

Qualifications/Competencies:

    • Bachelor’s degree in business, insurance, technology, analytics, or a related field. 
    • 7+ years of experience in commercial insurance (P&C) across product, operations, or technology 
    • 5+ years in product ownership, product management, or equivalent leadership role 
    • Deep expertise in at least one insurance domain (claims, underwriting, billing, etc.) 
    • Proven ability to own and deliver measurable business outcomes 
    • Strong understanding of Agile delivery models and product-centric organizations 
    • Experience leading cross-functional teams without direct authority 

    Squad Specific Expertise:

    • Demonstrated expertise across the end-to-end insurance lifecycle, including submission intake, rating and pricing, triage, new business workflow, underwriting and risk decisioning, bind and issuance, payments, digital enablement, and delivering a seamless customer experience

    Benefits:

    • Employees and their families are eligible to participate in CopperPoint Insurance Companies benefit plans including medical, dental, vision, short-term disability, long-term disability, life insurance, a health savings account, a flexible spending account, and a 401k plan.
    • We provide some benefits at no cost to the employee (Basic Life Insurance and AD&D at two times an employee’s annual salary, Short- and Long-term Disability coverage, and Employee Assistant Plan).
    • Employees will accrue 0.0846 hours of Paid Time Off (PTO) per paid hour, which may total 22 days a year. In addition, employees will also receive 10 paid holidays throughout the calendar year.

    Salary Range:

    • $135,000.00 - $170,000.00 annually
    • Compensation may vary depending on skills, experience, education, and geographical location.
    • In addition to base salary, compensation may include an annual discretionary bonus.
