PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ultimate responsibility of construction
  • Work directly with Project Manager
  • Expert knowledge of assigned plans and specs
  • Participate in assigned projects pre-construction phase, advising on all constructability issues
  • Host mandatory preconstruction meetings with every sub prior to the start date
  • Monitor projects quality control
  • Understand, implement & uphold Pogue procedures and processes
  • Maintain and update Project Schedule
  • Prepare updated schedule to present at every sub meeting
  • Create and develop short term construction schedule
  • Complete, retain & maintain Daily Reports in the W:// Drive and project software
  • Properly document project and Sub-Contractor performance
  • Monitor and ensure delivery of project materials
  • Host weekly Sub-Contractor meeting
  • Maintain a clean/presentable construction trailer and job-site
  • Follow and enforce all safety guidelines to ensure a safe jobsite
  • Ensure that all punch list and procedures are followed (sub, architect, owner and MEP punch lists)
  • Oversee SWPPP operations
  • Train Assistant Superintendent or other assigned staff
  • Key Relationship-holder with District & Architect
  • Other duties as assigned

REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPECTATIONS:

  • Know your projects construction sequence while positioning your job ahead of schedule
  • Proficient in Microsoft Project (scheduling software)

  • Communication skills to proactively contact subs (material delivery & manpower)
  • Team 1st & positive attitude
  • Forward thinker be proactive solution-finder
  • Open, honest, and frequent communication with both General Superintendent and Project Management Team
  • Minimum 20 hours of Continued Education (yearly)
  • Internal and external customer service

EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION:

  • 2-5 years serving as an Assistant Super on commercial construction sites
  • High School Diploma
  • K-12 experience preferred
