Location: Chicago IL (Hybrid)
Duration: Fulltime
Salary: $130,000

In this role, we are seeking a highly motivated individual who possesses strong technical and analytical skills, with an understanding of the wholesale brokerage insurance industry preferred. The individual will be technical lead and is expected to work with business to understand requirements and support application, work with Developers, Business Analyst and QE team to ensure quality solution delivery. Effective collaboration with the business users and various stakeholders is required. Serves as mentor, advisor and guide to the team of developers.
Responsibilities
  • Serve as a technical lead to design, develop, and implement solution.
  • Single point of contact for development for existing stack of applications and supporting production incidents.
  • Maintain and improve the functionality of existing software applications.
  • Manage and support SQL database environment, including production, testing, and development.
  • Analyse complex technical information to determine risk, impact, and mitigation strategies.
  • Support migration and transformation initiatives from legacy systems to modern platforms, ensuring data integrity and process continuity.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation to guide system users and assist with training.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to the team members.
  • Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technology advancements.
  • Work closely with business leads and product owners to understand requirements.
  • Guide development & support teams. Mentor team members. Technical/ functional guidance on the application.
  • Work on configuration changes.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Familiarity with a variety of both legacy and modern Policy Admin platforms.
  • Strong understanding of MGA operations and premium accounting processes.
  • Strong domain knowledge of insurance operations, specifically within MGA and premium accounting.
  • Work extensively on premium accounting workflows, including invoicing, collections, bordereaux processing, reconciliation, and reporting.
  • P&C experience (preferably in Specialty Insurance).
  • Hands on SQL 8+ years.
  • Understanding of insurance data structures, financial reconciliation, and reporting processes.
  • Experience in ETL and SSIS packages and workflow/automation creation.
  • Experience in with Documaker, Rackley, Infomaker, PowerBuilder, Retool, GoAnywhere, Redgate Tools, Git.
  • Solid experience working in Agile environment. Both Scrum and Kanban.
  • Hands on experience with Jira, Confluence, Service Now, ITIL tools and process framework.
  • Solid Understanding of Web applications, cloud managed services, service-oriented architecture (SOA) solutions, microservices, containers, API development and managed databases.
  • Superior analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proven ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications/ Skills
  • Nice to have Cloud experience, Azure Cloud, Google Cloud Platform.
  • Knowledge of ConceptOne, AIM and ImageRight will be preferred.
