About the Role

We are seeking a hands-on MGA Operations Manager to help lead and support the day-to-day operations of a growing Managing General Agency (MGA). This person will play a key role in building operational infrastructure, supporting accounting and finance functions, managing vendor relationships, overseeing licensing and compliance processes, and helping drive efficiency across the organization.

This is an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys wearing multiple hats, taking ownership, and helping build scalable processes in a fast-paced insurance environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily operational and administrative functions of the MGA
  • Manage vendor relationships, onboarding, and ongoing coordination
  • Support agency licensing, carrier appointments, and compliance activities
  • Partner closely with accounting and finance teams on operational processes, reporting, invoicing, and reconciliations
  • Help manage back-office operations and ensure workflows run efficiently
  • Assist with developing and improving operational procedures and documentation
  • Lead and support operational staff and help prioritize team initiatives
  • Coordinate with internal teams including underwriting, accounting, compliance, and leadership
  • Identify operational gaps and recommend process improvements to support growth

Qualifications

  • 3-7+ years of insurance operations experience, preferably within an MGA, wholesale brokerage, carrier, or agency environment
  • Strong understanding of insurance operations, licensing, and back-office workflows
  • Experience working closely with accounting and finance teams
  • Proven ability to manage projects, vendors, and operational processes simultaneously
  • Strong organizational skills with a hands-on, roll-up-your-sleeves mentality
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, growing environment
  • Leadership or team management experience preferred
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and insurance systems/platforms
