Job description

Downtown Pittsburgh financial services group is in need of an Insurance Operations Specialist.


Duties to include:

  • Track and manage life insurance applications and in-force policies throughout the underwriting and issuance process
  • Monitor pending cases and follow up with agents, carriers, underwriters, and clients to obtain outstanding requirements
  • Review applications, medical records, APS requests, financial documents, and underwriting requirements for completeness and accuracy
  • Support underwriting teams by preparing case summaries and coordinating documentation
  • Process policy changes, beneficiary updates, ownership changes, reinstatements, premium updates, and other service requests
  • Maintain accurate records in policy administration and CRM systems
  • Communicate policy status updates to advisors, clients, and internal stakeholders
  • Ensure compliance with company procedures, carrier guidelines, and regulatory requirements
  • Assist with policy delivery, placement follow-up, and post-issue service activities
  • Resolve service issues and escalate complex cases when necessary
  • Generate reports related to pending business, placement ratios, underwriting status, and policy service metrics
  • Support audits and quality control reviews as needed
