Function: 
The Legal Assistant (Paralegal & Administrative Support) work with D.A. Davidson’s General Counsel and the legal team currently consisting of 7 persons. This role combines paralegal responsibilities with administrative support to ensure efficient execution of legal workflows and day-to-day business operations. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: managing calendars and travel, meeting coordination, correspondence, assisting with the preparation and maintenance of legal documents, vendor contract management for the legal department, researching legal questions, assisting with litigation discovery, processing subpoenas and maintaining secure legal files and processes. 

Qualifications:

Required
•    Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
•    Paralegal certificate or relevant legal training
•    2–5+ years of experience in a paralegal, legal assistant, or administrative support role
•    Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
•    Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines 
•    Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams)

Preferred
•    Experience in financial services, broker-dealer, or investment advisory environment
•    Familiarity with regulatory frameworks (e.g., SEC, FINRA)
•    Experience with contract management systems or legal workflow tools
•    Strong organizational and communication abilities
•    Experience managing legal documents and confidential data
•    Experience with electronic discovery (e-discovery) in litigation and regulatory matters and familiarity with commonly used e-discovery platforms and tools
•    Discretion and trustworthiness in handling sensitive information
Duties:

Legal Support
•    Assist attorneys with legal research, document preparation, and regulatory analysis
•    Draft, review, and manage standard legal documents, including agreements, disclosures, and internal memoranda
•    Assist with litigation support tasks, including coordinating discovery, collecting and organizing documents, assisting with filings, and tracking deadlines 
•    Maintain internal legal department tracking logs such as litigation hold summaries, active and closed legal matter reporting, legal expense tracking and outside counsel guidelines
•    Support regulatory filings and maintain documentation in accordance with applicable legal requirements
•    Track and manage deadlines, filings, and legal matters to ensure timely completion
•    Maintain organized and confidential legal files and records

Contract & Document Management
•    Coordinate the intake, review, and routing of contracts and legal materials and firm legal documents
•    Assist with due diligence and document compilation for transactions, audits, and inquiries
•    Assist with responses to subpoenas, document requests, etc.
•    Assist with litigation and arbitration management including documentation gathering, e-discovery and email review. 

Administrative Support
•    Provide primary legal and administrative support to the General Counsel
•    Provide administrative support to the legal team, including scheduling, correspondence, and meeting preparation
•    Provide administrative support to the legal team with respect to travel and expense tracking and reimbursement
•    Coordinate internal communications and assist in preparing presentations and reports
•    Support departmental processes and contribute to workflow improvements
•    Assist with onboarding, training materials, and internal documentation as needed

Cross-Functional Collaboration
•    Respond to internal requests for information and documentation in a timely and professional manner
•    Support implementation of firm policies, procedures, and initiatives

The potential base pay hiring range for this role is $82,000 to $103,000 annually. The compensation offered will be determined on a case-by-case basis considering a variety of factors including, but not limited to, the skills, relevant work experience, and geographic location of each specific candidate.
