Job description
Insurance finance leaders today face disruption from artificial intelligence, market volatility, and regulatory change, such as IFRS 17 and LDTI. As an FP&A Senior Consultant focused on the insurance industry, you will help insurance carriers strengthen financial planning, forecasting, and analytics capabilities so they can make more informed business decisions. This role supports finance transformation efforts for life and annuity (L&A), property and casualty (P&C), specialty and reinsurance organizations by combining process improvement, data enhancement, and technology innovation to deliver timely, actionable insights across the enterprise.
Recruiting for this role ends on 12/24/26
Work you'll do
As an FP&A Senior Consultant within the Insurance Finance Transformation team, you will be responsible for:
Leading financial planning, forecasting, budgeting, and reporting transformation projects for insurance carriers' finance organizations
Driving finance transformation initiatives across planning, analytics, management reporting, and decision support processes for L&A, P&C, specialty and reinsurance carriers
Developing financial models, scenario analyses, and performance insights (including loss ratio, combined ratio, expense ratio, and reserve/premium trend analysis against external and macroeconomic impacts) to support strategic and operational decisions
Collaborating with actuarial, investments, underwriting, claims, and other client stakeholders to assess current-state finance processes and design scalable future-state solutions
Supporting the implementation and adoption of data, automation, and artificial intelligence capabilities within FP&A processes
Supporting alignment between statutory (NAIC), US GAAP, IFRS and capital (e.g., RBC, BSCR, etc.) reporting requirements within FP&A planning and forecasting processes
Designing and facilitating client workshops (from preparation through execution) to drive design decisions and advance stakeholder thinking on future-state processes
Managing work plans and timelines across multiple concurrent workstreams to drive deliverables to closure
A successful candidate would possess these skills:
Ability to work independently and collaborate as part of a team
Effective written and verbal communication skills
Present to key internal and client stakeholders, including meeting facilitation activities
Meticulous attention to detail and quality of work product
Deep understanding of an insurance carrier income statement, balance sheet, liquidity and capital financial statements and analytics
Deep understanding of insurance-specific financial concepts, including loss reserves, reinsurance ceding, premium recognition, and combined ratio
Familiarity with regulatory reporting requirements of an insurance company, including NAIC statutory reporting and IFRS 17/LDTI
Familiarity with actuarial concepts and terminology, and ability to collaborate effectively with actuarial teams
SQL, Python, or Alteryx based data prep/automation
Ability to build and sustain professional relationships
Ability to lead projects or workstreams including project management activities (e.g., status tracking, RAID documentation, key design decisioning)
Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
Strong interpersonal skills and professional demeanor
Ability to meet deadlines
Ability to mentor and provide clear guidance to others
The team
