Job description

Best Life Physical Therapy and Sports Medicine is the leading provider of outpatient physical therapy and sports medicine in the Hampton Roads Area with four locations. We have a dynamic team of experts who not only deliver cutting-edge treatment but also do it with compassion and a desire to improve the life of each individual patient.

We are looking for an energetic self-starter for a dual role as a physical therapy technician with administrative responsibilities. We have two locations in Virginia Beach, a location inside of Iron Asylum gym located in Norfolk, and a location inside of Universal Fitness in Chesapeake. This is a great opportunity for someone interested in getting experience in outpatient orthopedics to work in a small, physical therapist-owned outpatient ortho/sports medicine clinic. This is an ideal fit for someone who has an interest in the physical therapy field who is looking for a long term position (at least a year) and has flexibility with their schedules. The willingness to cover at the other locations gives more opportunity to receive more hours and learn techniques from different therapists.

The position would be Part Time/Full Time.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Administrative duties would include checking patients in and out, answering phone calls, scheduling, taking payments, assisting with insurance processing.
  • Helping in patient treatment, care, and safety of patients as they complete therapeutic exercises.
  • Assist clinicians in the treatment of patients of varying ages, levels of function, etc.
  • Prepare and clean equipment for patient treatments.
  • Perform general housekeeping duties.

Requirements:
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a passion for helping people is a must.
  • An interest in physical therapy or exercise science is helpful, but not required.
  • Personal training or athletic training certificate with prior experience working out in a gym setting is helpful, but not required.
  • Superficial knowledge of physiology, anatomy, patient care, and neurology is helpful.
  • Strong multi-tasking and excellent communication skills are preferred.
  • Previous experience (paid or volunteer) in a physical therapy setting is a plus.
  • Experience with medical administration/insurance filing is not required, but would be fantastic also.

Hours: 
  • Monday - OFF.
  • Tuesday 7-3 at our Chesapeake Location.
  • Wednesday 10-7 at our Castleton Virginia Beach location.
  • Thursday 7-3 at our Chesapeake Location.
  • Friday 7-12 at our Castleton Virginia Beach location.
