Job description

  • Process renewal property casualty business to grow revenues and maintain retention and profitability
  • Examine applications, inspection reports, insurance maps, and medical reports to determine risk
  • Request additional information and accept or reject risks according to company guidelines
  • Underwrite renewal business by reviewing insured files, agency experience, loss history, and prior carrier experience
  • Obtain required information, complete applications, confirm quotes and binders, issue policies, make applicable state filings, and pay taxes
  • Review, analyze, and underwrite risks submitted by Producers; rate submissions and analyze exposures
  • Issue written indications, quotes, and binders; obtain further information through inspection companies
  • Market to and meet with retail agency customers to develop business and cultivate relationships
  • Foster relationships with departments, producers, companies, and competitors
  • Utilize binding authorities or broker risks when required to negotiate placements
  • Service and perpetuate existing business
  • Assist in training processors, assistants, and other personnel; review documents for completeness and accuracy
Requirements
  • Minimum education required: High School Diploma or GED
  • Bachelorโ€™s Degree (B.A) from four-year college or university or equivalent industry experience (preferred)
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite
  • Exceptional telephone demeanor
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
  • Active Property Casualty License or successfully complete Property Casualty licensing requirements within 90-days of hire-date (preferred)
  • 2โ€“3 years' experience in a similar position (preferred)
