Job description

Temporary Executive Assistant
LHH is hiring for a temporary Executive Assistant to work with our client in DC. The Executive Assistant works closely with members of the President's Office-including the Chief of Staff, Executive Assistants, Research Associates, and other senior leaders-to ensure seamless coordination across the organization. Regular in-office attendance is required when the executive is working from the Washington, DC office. Travel to East Coast offices, external meetings, media engagements, and speaking events is also expected.
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 9:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m., with flexibility to provide support outside of standard business hours when necessary.
Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a complex and frequently changing executive calendar, including a high volume of meeting requests and scheduling priorities.
  • Act as a primary point of contact between the executive and internal teams, board members, donors, media representatives, and other external partners.
  • Provide direct, hands-on support to the executive during meetings, conferences, and events involving senior leaders and prominent stakeholders.
  • Prepare daily briefings, weekly schedules, and other planning materials.
  • Develop and coordinate meeting agendas, background materials, presentations, and talking points.
  • Partner with security personnel to coordinate logistics and preparation for public appearances and speaking engagements.
  • Arrange domestic travel, accommodations, and related logistics for the executive and invited guests.
  • Track, reconcile, and process business expenses in a timely manner.
  • Draft correspondence, conduct research, and assist with written materials in collaboration with the executive and internal stakeholders.
  • Maintain organized records, files, and document management systems.
  • Support Board meeting planning, logistics, and on-site execution.
  • Contribute to special projects and perform additional responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications & Preferred Attributes
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited U.S. institution or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • At least five years of experience supporting senior executives, preferably at the C-suite level.
  • Alignment with and commitment to the organization's mission and values.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and the ability to quickly learn new technologies and systems.
  • Experience managing relationships with vendors and external service providers to meet operational and logistical needs.
  • Proven ability to exercise sound judgment while maintaining the highest standards of confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment that requires adaptability, responsiveness, and effective decision-making under pressure.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to think creatively and navigate unexpected situations with confidence.
  • Exceptional organizational abilities and attention to detail, with the capacity to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated emotional intelligence, professionalism, and respect for others, balancing empathy and relationship-building with accountability and results.
