Developer & Test Engineer
Location: Remote (Must live in the U.S.)
Employment Type: Full time
We are seeking a Senior Software Developer / Developer & Test Engineer Task Lead with 7+ years of experience supporting enterprise application development, testing, release management, and Operations & Maintenance (O&M) activities. The ideal candidate will lead software releases, oversee daily O&M activities, manage testing efforts, and serve as the primary liaison between the technical team and the Government Program Manager. This individual will provide technical leadership across the development lifecycle while ensuring successful delivery of system enhancements, maintenance activities, and modernization initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as the Technical Lead and primary point of contact for development, testing, deployment, and O&M activities.
  • Lead and coordinate software release planning, execution, testing, and production deployments.
  • Oversee application maintenance, defect resolution, and enhancement activities.
  • Conduct release testing, regression testing, integration testing, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) support.
  • Manage requirements for new and evolving system releases, ensuring traceability from requirements through deployment.
  • Coordinate requirements analysis and prioritization activities with the Government Program Manager and project stakeholders.
  • Provide technical leadership, task assignment, mentoring, and oversight for development team activities.
  • Monitor project schedules, deliverables, risks, and issues to ensure successful project execution.
  • Support application modernization, database migration, and system transition activities.
  • Ensure compliance with IRS development standards, testing procedures, configuration management processes, and security requirements.
  • Collaborate with developers, database administrators, systems administrators, testers, and Government stakeholders to deliver high-quality solutions.
Required Experience
  • 7+ years of experience in software development and technical leadership roles.
  • Experience leading application development, testing, and software release activities.
  • Strong experience with Microsoft .NET, ASP.NET, C#, Visual Studio, and SQL Server.
  • Experience supporting production applications and O&M environments.
  • Experience gathering, managing, and implementing business and technical requirements.
  • Experience coordinating directly with Government customers and stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.
