As a Licensed Professional Counselor at St. Charles Counseling Services, your key responsibilities will include:

• Collaborating with primary care providers to identify, treat, and manage mental health and psychosocial issues, ensuring a holistic approach to patient care.
• Conducting comprehensive patient intakes and diagnostic evaluations, followed by formulating appropriate treatment goals and plans in alignment with both agency and Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) guidelines.
• Delivering brief, focused interventions to clients requiring immediate mental health support, while closely monitoring their progress throughout their treatment journey.
• Providing recommendations to primary care providers on patient referrals to specialty mental health facilities when necessary, optimizing patient outcomes.
• Developing and implementing relapse prevention plans, ensuring clients maintain stability while providing strategies to manage potential crises.
• Maintaining detailed documentation of patient progress and therapeutic interventions in compliance with organizational protocols.
• Providing education and self-management strategies to empower clients as active participants in their recovery and overall well-being.
• Engaging in continuous consultation with the clinic’s management team and other professionals to refine behavioral health services and program efficacy.
• Adhering strictly to the Code of Ethical Conduct for Clinical Professionals, embodying the ethics and principles of the counseling profession.

Your work will primarily focus on a diverse clientele experiencing a range of mental health challenges, including depression, anxiety, and stress-related disorders. You will engage with individuals from different cultural backgrounds and age groups, making cultural competence a key asset in your role. The clinic's integrated approach ensures that each patient’s physical, mental, and social concerns are addressed comprehensively, fostering an inclusive and supportive care environment.

To be successful in this role, candidates must meet the following qualifications:

• A minimum of a Master's Degree in Clinical Counseling or a closely related field.
• Current and valid LPC License.
• Solid understanding of mental health assessment, treatment modalities, and diagnostic criteria, including DSM-IV-TR.
• Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively in an interdisciplinary team, contributing to comprehensive treatment strategies.
• Strong knowledge of community resources and an ability to navigate the healthcare landscape to support client needs.
• Proven skills in maintaining accurate clinical records and reporting on patient progress and treatment outcomes.
• Mental and physical health sufficient to meet the position’s demands and challenges.

While not mandatory, the following experience will enhance your application:
