Job description

About Valmark Financial Group:

Valmark Financial Group is one of the nation’s leading independent financial services firms, providing wealth management, insurance, and financial planning solutions through a network of affiliated advisors. For decades, Valmark has combined deep technical expertise with a collaborative, advisor-first culture — and we’re growing.

The Opportunity:

This is a rare chance to be a founding contributor to an innovative initiative. As Valmark expands its InForce Insurance Solutions service offering, we’re looking for a motivated insurance professional to take the lead in turning existing client relationships and maturing policies into meaningful outcomes — for clients and for your career.

You’ll operate with real autonomy, supported by industry-leading technology, Valmark’s carrier relationships, and a collaborative team that has your back. If you’re energized by the idea of building something special inside an established firm — with the resources and stability to do it right — this role was designed for you.

What We Offer:

  • Competitive base salary plus performance-based incentive tied to production results
  • A senior, growth-oriented role with a clear path to greater ownership and responsibility
  • Access to industry-leading platforms, carrier relationships, and in-force data tools
  • A collaborative, client-first culture where your contributions are visible and valued
  • Professional development support — we invest in designations, licensure, and continuing education
  • Stable, structured environment with the creative latitude of an “Intrapreneur”

What You’ll Do:

Business Development & Client Engagement

  • Engage existing Valmark clients and affiliated advisors to identify planning needs and present life insurance solutions stemming from policy reviews and firm-generated opportunities
  • Lead proactive outreach to clients with underperforming or at-risk policies, and to accounts that no longer have an active advisor relationship
  • Respond to inbound inquiries, qualify opportunities, and provide timely, thoughtful solutions
  • Build and maintain trusted relationships with affiliated advisors, trust companies, and other institutional partners — including serving as the lead insurance advisor for an existing strategic partner
  • Drive client action through clear, professional communication — without high-pressure tactics

Case Design & Insurance Strategy

  • Review in-force policy data and run illustrations to identify planning gaps, lapse risk, or conversion and replacement opportunities
  • Prepare policy reviews and client-ready presentations in collaboration with Valmark’s Insurance Marketing and Policy Management teams
  • Apply Valmark’s Life Insurance 10X philosophy, carrier relationships, and product portfolio to develop appropriate, client-centered solutions
  • Coordinate with internal teams — including Policy Management, Life Settlement Advocacy, Insurance Marketing, Underwriting, and New Business — to move cases from opportunity through placement

Pipeline & Technology Management

  • Maintain accurate records in Valmark’s CRM, tracking opportunities, activity, and case status through the full sales cycle
  • Leverage in-force data tools and carrier platforms to research policy details, run illustrations, and support presentations
  • Help shape the outreach workflows, templates, and follow-up sequences that will define this practice for years to come

What You Bring:

Required

  • 5+ years of experience in life insurance, financial services, or a closely related field, with meaningful exposure to life insurance products, policy administration, or client service
  • Active Life Insurance license (required at hire or within 60 days)
  • Demonstrated experience working directly with clients or advisors — whether in sales, case management, or advisory support
  • Comfort with technology platforms including CRM tools, Microsoft Office, and carrier illustration systems
  • Strong organization and follow-through: you can manage multiple open cases without losing accuracy or momentum

Core Competencies:

  • Insurance Product Knowledge — Solid, practical understanding of life insurance products and in-force mechanics, with genuine drive to deepen expertise over time
  • Client-Facing Communication — Clear, personable, and professional; able to simplify complex concepts and build lasting trust with clients and advisors
  • Sales Drive — Motivated to identify opportunities, help clients take action, and grow into increasing ownership of results
  • Intrapreneur Mindset — Takes initiative, thinks creatively, and is energized by building something new within a supportive, established organization
  • Technology Aptitude — Comfortable navigating CRM systems, carrier tools, and data platforms to stay organized and prioritize effectively
  • Organization & Follow-Through — Detail-oriented and reliable; capable of managing multiple cases and client interactions simultaneously

Salary Range: $70,000 - 80,000

Bonus target of $50k-$100k based on performance results.

Actual salary at the time of hire may vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors, including, but not limited to, the candidate’s relevant qualifications, skills, and experience.

Physical Demands: This is a sedentary role with no specific physical demands.

Expected Hours of Work:

  • Days and typical hours of work are Monday through Friday
  • Some flexibility in hours is allowed, but the employee must work 40 hours per week to maintain full-time status.
  • Up to 2 days WFH per week, per policy
