Accountant II / Senior Accountant | Fit Fusion
Position Overview
Fit Fusion is seeking a high-performing Accountant II / Senior Accountant to play a key role in strengthening our accounting operations and delivering accurate, timely financial reporting.
This is a hands-on role focused on supporting and progressively owning the monthly close process, maintaining balance sheet integrity, and ensuring financial data is complete, accurate, and audit-ready. You will partner closely with the Controller and cross-functional teams to drive consistency, improve processes, and support a growing, multi-entity business.

Key Responsibilities
Month-End Close & General Accounting
  • Support and progressively own components of the monthly close process (target: 57 business days)
  • Prepare and post journal entries, including accruals, deferrals, and reclassifications
  • Ensure transactions are recorded accurately and in the appropriate accounting period
  • Assist in preparation of monthly financial statements and reporting packages
Account Reconciliations & Balance Sheet Integrity
Perform and maintain monthly balance sheet reconciliations, including:
    • Cash and credit cards
    • Accounts receivable and accounts payable
    • Prepaids and accrued expenses
    • Fixed assets
    • Intercompany accounts
    • Deferred revenue and other liabilities
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner
  • Maintain detailed supporting schedules and ensure accounts are audit-ready
Payables Oversight & Transaction Support
  • Review payables for accuracy, proper coding, approvals, and documentation
  • Assist with payment processing (ACH, checks, electronic payments) as needed
  • Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies
  • Support AP/AR functions to ensure timely and accurate processing
Accruals, Analysis & Reporting Support
  • Identify and record necessary accruals and estimates
  • Assist with variance analysis and provide explanations for fluctuations
  • Partner with operations to research and resolve discrepancies
Systems, Process Improvement & Controls
  • Identify opportunities to improve close efficiency, accuracy, and scalability
  • Support and maintain systems such as Sage Intacct, Bill.com, and related platforms
  • Assist with system implementations, integrations, and process enhancements
  • Document accounting procedures and support development of internal controls
Collaboration & Support
  • Partner with Accounting and Operations teams to ensure alignment of financial data
  • Respond to internal and external inquiries in a timely and professional manner
  • Support audit and lender requests by providing accurate documentation and analysis
Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 46+ years of progressive accounting experience
  • Strong understanding of GAAP
  • Experience with:
    • Month-end close
    • Account reconciliations
    • Accrual accounting
  • Experience with accounting systems (e.g., Sage Intacct, Bill.com, or similar)
  • Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, data analysis)
  • Multi-entity or multi-location experience
  • Intercompany accounting and consolidations
  • Deferred revenue or subscription-based accounting experience
