Title: Management Liability Practice Leader 


Fully Remote |The ideal candidate will bring 5-10 years of Management Liability experience with a large national retail brokerage. This individual will play a key role in developing and executing complex account strategies, supporting the firm's Private Equity practice, and driving Management Liability product initiatives and market campaigns.

About the Role: The Management Liability Practice Leader is responsible for developing and executing a best-in-class value proposition addressing the diverse management liability needs of IOA clients, including Directors & Officers Liability, Employment Practices Liability, Fiduciary Liability, Crime, and Kidnap & Ransom coverages. This role serves as IOA’s national subject matter expert, partnering with Producers, Account Managers, and leadership to deliver innovative coverage solutions, risk management strategies, market expertise, and consultative guidance that support client success and organizational growth. 
 
Key Responsibilities: 

  • Practice Leadership: Lead the development and execution of IOA’s Management Liability practice strategy, ensuring a differentiated and competitive market presence. 

  • Carrier & Market Strategy: Evaluate carrier appetites, market conditions, industry trends, and product offerings to identify optimal solutions for client needs. 

  • Coverage Consulting: Provide expert guidance on Directors & Officers, Employment Practices Liability, Fiduciary Liability, Crime, Kidnap & Ransom, and related management liability coverages. 

  • Coverage Analysis & Placement Support: Deliver coverage recommendations through market navigation, policy analysis, form comparison, RFP support, and proposal development. 

  • Risk Management Solutions: Design and implement service and risk management strategies that enhance client outcomes and differentiate IOA in the marketplace. 

  • Analytics & Benchmarking: Partner with IOA’s Data team to develop benchmarking tools, quantitative analytics, and assessment capabilities that support data-driven decision-making. 

  • Content & Thought Leadership: Oversee Management Liability content and educational resources across digital, print, social media, industry publications, associations, and internal platforms. 

  • Sales Support: Partner with Producers on business development opportunities, providing technical expertise and strategic guidance for complex client engagements. 

  • Client Advisory: Participate in select client meetings as a subject matter expert, delivering strategic consultation and guidance on complex management liability exposures. 

  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with Producers, Account Teams, carrier partners, and internal departments to support client service excellence and practice growth. 

  • Market Intelligence: Maintain awareness of emerging risks, regulatory developments, market conditions, and coverage innovations that impact management liability programs. 

  • Process Improvement: Identify and implement best practices, service enhancements, and operational improvements that strengthen practice performance and scalability. 

  • Technical Expertise: Maintain a high level of management liability knowledge and provide ongoing guidance to internal teams regarding market trends, products, and coverage strategies. 

  • Professional Development: Continuously strengthen industry expertise and remain current on evolving management liability products, risks, and market conditions. 

  • Champion IOA Values: Demonstrate integrity, leadership, accountability, and professionalism in all interactions. 

 
Ideal Candidate Qualifications: 

  • 5–10+ years of Management Liability experience as an underwriter, broker, producer, or combination thereof 

  • Deep expertise in Directors & Officers, Employment Practices Liability, Fiduciary Liability, Crime, and related executive risk coverages, including carrier markets, coverage structures, policy language, and risk management strategies 

  • Active Property & Casualty License or ability to obtain within six months of hire 

  • Proven consultative, client advisory, and business development experience with the ability to influence internal and external stakeholders 

  • Exceptional analytical, strategic thinking, problem-solving, and relationship management skills 

  • Outstanding verbal, written, and presentation communication skills 

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and insurance technology platforms 

  • Exceptional personal character
