Job description

OJ Insulation is seeking experienced and motivated individuals to join our team as Commercial Insulation Installers. As a Commercial Insulation Installer, you will play a crucial role in enhancing energy efficiency and comfort for our clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install various types of insulation materials in residential and commercial buildings.
  • Responsible for loading and logging materials onto the truck and making notations of returned materials for each job order
  • Erects scaffolding or ladders to the height needed to install insulation. Uses and operates aerial lifts as needed.
  • Measure and cut insulation materials to fit specific spaces, ensuring a proper and effective installation.
  • Attaches insulation materials by stapling, gluing, wiring, and nailing
  • Operates equipment that injects loose-fill insulation or foamed insulation
  • Work with the installation team to complete projects efficiently and within deadlines.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a secure work environment. Responsible for complying with Cal OSHA guidelines and company safety policies and procedures
  • Maintain tools, truck housekeeping, and maintenance
  • Responsible for completing the timecard daily and ensuring it is submitted on time
  • May be required to drive a company vehicle (if DL record is clean), and follow all driving safety rules and DOT requirements at all times
  • Responsible for completing paperwork for each job and returning it to the production coordinator daily
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Provide excellent customer service and address client questions or concerns professionally.
  • Collaborate with team members and supervisors to ensure quality workmanship.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience as an insulation installer is preferred but not required. Training will be provided.
  • Maintain a valid driver's license
  • Ability to work in various environments, including confined spaces, attics, crawl spaces and elevated surfaces. Able to work at heights up to 45ft.
  • Experience in the construction Industry a plus
  • Able to climb up and down a ladder, scaffolds, and work within the framing of the building
  • Able to perform basic math skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Able to work independently or with a crew
  • Able to climb into, operate, and work in an aerial lift
  • Strong attention to detail and precision in measuring and cutting insulation materials.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well in a team.
  • Basic understanding of safety procedures and the importance of workplace safety.
  • Section 3 Workers and Targeted Section 3 Workers residing within the service area or neighborhood of the project are strongly encouraged to apply.
  • Position requires a drug test and physical to be completed, contingent upon employment.

Physical Demands

  • Must be able to use common hand tools, including scissors, utility knife, saws, pliers, stapling hammer, drills, and poly guns
  • Must be able to read job instructions and record materials used for each work/job order
  • Must be able to work in tight places, including attics and crawlspaces
  • Must be able to lift, push, and pull a minimum of 100lbs
  • Must be able to climb ladders, scaffolding, and aerial lifts
  • Must be able to bend, twist, and turn the body at the shoulders, waist, and knees to install insulation
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods of time
