Description

The Mundy Companies, a leader in the industrial maintenance, services and engineering fields, is currently hiring the following long-term position in the La Porte, Texas area:
WELDER / MULTI-CRAFT
4 X 10'S DAYS + OT as needed
Needs to be able to help other crafts: Boilermakers, pipefitters, scaffold builders, insulators, painters, carpentry, etc.
Essential Job Functions:
Welds together metal components such as pipe or metal pipes as specified by layout, blueprints, work orders, welding procedures, or oral instructions, using electric arc-welding equipment. The successful candidate will maintain a high degree of personal safety and environmental awareness at all time. The ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing is also required.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Must be qualified to do manual shielded metal arc-welding (SMAW) and gas tungsten arc-welding (GTAW) in all positions.
  2. May be required to pass certification test(s) in accordance with ASSME Section 9, or American Welding Society D1.1.
  3. Must be competent in the use of oxyacetylene cutting.
  4. Must be familiar with welding/cutting safety requirements.
Physical Demands:
May include working in extreme hot or cold weather conditions. May require bending, stooping, working in cramped and/or uncomfortable positions. May include climbing ladders, catwalks, and scaffolding.
The ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing is required. All qualified applicants must possess the ability to pass a criminal background check, pre-employment drug screen and other pre-qualifications as required.
