Description
Cedar Hills Recreation Center is seeking an enthusiastic and reliable pickleball instructor to lead recreational adult pickleball classes at our indoor facility. The ideal candidate will plan, organize, and lead engaging classes that focus on skill development, safety, confidence, and fun. Additional responsibilities include light equipment setup and cleanup, creating a positive and inclusive environment, and coordinating with recreation staff.
Sunday Schedule
Upcoming term runs September 13 through December 13, 2026
- Adult Pickleball Drills: 10:00-11:00 a.m.
- Adult Pickleball Fundamentals: 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.
There is also an opportunity to assist with or lead Wednesday morning adult pickleball classes.
Wednesday Schedule
Upcoming term runs September 9 through December 16, 2026
- Adult Pickleball Drills: 8:45-9:45 a.m.
- Pickleball for 55+: 10:00-11:00 a.m.
Additional opportunities may also be available to assist with or lead youth pickleball classes, camps, and other recreation programs.
Qualifications
- Strong communication skills
- Knowledge of pickleball
- Ability to adapt instruction for participants with different experience levels
- Current CPR/First Aid Certification OR ability to obtain upon hire
- Previous experience teaching pickleball or leading group recreation or fitness classes is preferred

Instructor I:
No teaching experience required, must love working with people of all ages and abilities; be able to work inside and outside; and be at least 16 years of age.
Pay Rate: $19.78 - $22.30 Hourly
The hiring rate for this position is $19.78 - $22.30. The full hourly range for this classification is $19.78 - $22.30 per hour. Staff may be eligible for a merit increase at the end of September.
Instructor II:
Must have at least 1 year of experience in leading and instructing general classes and be at least 16 years of age.
Pay Rate: $21.81 - $24.59 Hourly
The hiring rate for this position is $21.81 - $24.59. The full hourly range for this classification is $21.81 - $24.59 per hour. Staff may be eligible for a merit increase at the end of September.
Instructor III:
Must have over 1 year of experience and specialized training in the assigned program area; and be 18 years of age and have a valid driver's license.
Pay Rate: $26.51 Hourly
The hiring rate for this position is $26.51. The full hourly range for this classification is $26.51 - $29.89 per hour. Staff may be eligible for a merit increase at the end of September.

PART-TIME VARIABLE (PT): Part-time variable (PT) employees work less than 29 hours per week on average annually. However, they have the option of working additional hours during periods like summer or winter months. Leave
- Paid Time Off - Paid leave type for part-time variable employees. Paid Time Off (PTO), will accrue at a rate of one (1) hour earned for every 30 hours worked. This is in addition to Sick leave and may be scheduled by employees for any reason! Effective February 15, 2026 the accrual rate for PTO will increase to one (1) hour earned for every 23 hours worked and will include seasonal employees!
- The ability to accrue paid sick leave at a rate of one (1) hour earned for every 30 hours worked
- Family Medical Leave eligibility for qualified family and medical related reasons
- Paid compassionate leave is available to all part-time employees to grieve the loss of an immediate family member, to make arrangements (if necessary), and to attend memorial services. Employees are eligible for paid compassionate leave for up to the hours scheduled in their average work week.
