JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Title: 7 12 Instructional Coach (TOSA)
Qualifications:
  • Hold a valid New York State Teaching Certification
  • Exceptional leadership and interpersonal skills
  • Effective communication and problem-solving skills
  • Strong knowledge of curriculum, pedagogical practice, and the application of the instructional planning process across content areas
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively with all educational stakeholders to solve problems and support student success.

Responsibilities: Shall include, but are not limited to the following:
  • Facilitate curriculum development and revision, emphasizing vertical alignment across grade bands
  • Plan, develop, and implement quality professional development aligned to the VCS Model of Instruction in a variety of content areas
  • Provide ongoing instructional coaching, mentoring, and support to secondary teaching staff across all academic disciplines
  • Support the implementation of standards-aligned curriculum with instructional best practices, effective deployment of aligned resources, and the use of data from formative/summative assessments
  • Support building and district-level instructional initiatives related to the Portrait of a Graduate and Career and Technical Education
  • Promote evidence-based instructional strategies, disciplinary literacy, and interdisciplinary learning practices across all content areas
  • Participate in building-based instructional teams to support student learning
  • Guide the integration of Social Emotional Learning (SEL) and culturally responsive practices within instructional planning
  • Model and recommend Tier 1 (classroom-based) supports, accommodations, and interventions across all learning environments
  • Collaborate with building administration, instructional coaches, Teacher Leaders, Classroom Teachers, and Special Educators in support of student learning and inclusive practice
  • Explore opportunities to promote innovative instructional strategies and cross-curricular integration in the classroom, as well as across the district
  • Collaborate with the Director of 7 12 Instruction and Elementary Instructional Coaches to coordinate the implementation of new curriculum and the monitoring of instructional shifts
  • Analyze academic and system data in conjunction with the Director of 7 12 Instruction to inform instructional needs and coaching plans
  • Coordinate, in conjunction with building-based teacher leaders and administrators, the organization of instructional materials and assessment tools
  • Participate in professional learning and networking within and beyond the region to deepen understanding of multi-disciplinary instructional best practices
  • Other duties as assigned by the Director of 7 12 Instruction

Reports to: Director of 7 12 Instruction
Salary: Starting at $49,500 (Negotiable based on experience) As per the contract between Victor Central Schools and the Victor Central Teachers' Association
Terms of Employment: The 7 12 Instructional Coach position is a ten-month position with potential for up to 20 paid summer days, reviewed annually by the Assistant Superintendent for Instruction. The terms established in accordance with the contract between the Superintendent of Schools and the Victor Teachers' Association.
Evaluation: Per the contract between Victor Central Schools and the Victor Central Teachers' Association.
