Job description

Field Operations Manager

The Field Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing daily field operations and leading crews in the installation, maintenance, and repair of erosion and sediment control systems. This role ensures projects are completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with industry standards and company expectations.
Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, supervise, and support field crews to ensure high-quality and efficient project execution
  • Plan, schedule, and oversee multiple job sites and work orders
  • Estimate labor, materials, and time requirements; track and manage project progress
  • Train and mentor team members in proper installation and maintenance of erosion and sediment control measures (e.g., silt fence, inlet protection, turbidity barriers)
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards, environmental regulations, and company policies
  • Operate and oversee the use of hand tools, power tools, and light construction equipment
  • Safely operate company vehicles and trailers to transport crews and materials
  • Communicate with management, clients, and contractors regarding project status and needs
  • Troubleshoot field issues and adjust plans to meet deadlines and site conditions
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Work Environment & Travel

  • Frequent travel to construction sites throughout the Mobile area
  • Primarily outdoor work with regular exposure to heat, sun, and varying weather conditions
  • Standard work schedule is Mondayโ€“Friday, with occasional extended hours and weekends as needed
  • Periodic travel to other regions within Alabama and Florida to support company growth
Physical Requirements

To perform the essential functions of this role, the Field Operations Manager must be able to:
  • Wear required PPE (hard hat, safety vest, safety glasses, work boots)
  • Work outdoors for extended periods in various weather conditions
  • Walk long distances across uneven terrain
  • Perform physical tasks including standing, bending, kneeling, and lifting up to 50 lbs regularly
Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Valid driverโ€™s license with a clean driving record (required)
  • 2+ years of experience leading crews in construction, erosion control, or similar fieldwork
  • Working knowledge of construction site operations or landscaping practices
  • Ability to operate or willingness to learn equipment (trencher, skid steer, ride-on blower, etc.)
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Reliable attendance
Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience installing and maintaining erosion and sediment control BMPs
  • Experience managing multiple crews or job sites
  • Familiarity with environmental compliance standards related to construction sites
