Job description

Overview and Focus of the Position

The Inside Sales Manager serves as the central hub of ASDI's sales operations, supporting revenue growth across all value streams. This role owns the full inside sales cycle — from supporting inbound inquiries and pricing through coordinating order fulfillment — while acting as the primary internal point of contact when outside sales representatives are traveling. The Inside Sales Manager brings deep Salesforce expertise, strong analytical skills, and a collaborative approach that keeps the broader sales engine running smoothly across commercial and industrial accounts.

Responsibilities

SALESFORCE CRM MANAGEMENT

  • Supports the Salesforce CRM platform as the single source of truth for all customer accounts, opportunities, and sales activity
  • Builds and manages dashboards, reports, and pipeline views to give leadership real-time visibility into sales performance
  • Ensures data integrity across accounts, contacts, and opportunity records; enforces consistent entry standards across the team

PRICING MANAGEMENT

  • Updates pricing schedules for value streams in line with market rates, margin targets, and contract terms
  • Prepares custom pricing proposals for commercial and industrial accounts; ensures accuracy before submission
  • Maintains a pricing matrix in Salesforce and ensures outside sales representatives have access to current, approved rates

ORDER TRACKING & COORDINATION

  • Tracks all open orders from placement through delivery, proactively communicating status updates to customers and internal stakeholders
  • Collaborates with operations and logistics teams to resolve scheduling conflicts, delivery exceptions, or supply issues
  • Logs and manages order data in Salesforce; flags at-risk orders and escalates as needed
  • Maintains accurate records of contract volumes, delivery schedules, and billing milestones

OUTSIDE SALES SUPPORT

  • Serves as the primary internal contact for outside sales representatives while traveling, handling customer inquiries, urgent pricing requests, and time-sensitive account needs
  • Prepares sales presentations, proposals, and quote packages for outside representatives in advance of customer meetings
  • Debriefs with outside representatives upon return to update Salesforce records and advance open opportunities

CUSTOMER RELATIONSHIP MANAGEMENT

  • Builds strong relationships with assigned accounts through regular check-ins, prompt responsiveness, and proactive communication
  • Handles inbound customer calls and emails related to pricing, orders, account status, and contract renewals
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Objectives

  • Salesforce CRM data is accurate, current, and used as the reliable single source of truth for all sales activity across value streams
  • Pricing proposals and order coordination are completed accurately and on time, supporting outside sales effectiveness and customer satisfaction
  • Inside sales processes are consistently executed, enabling outside representatives to focus on field activity without loss of account continuity

Outcomes & Success Indicators

  • CRM data completeness and accuracy maintained at or above defined compliance threshold
  • Customer inquiries and internal requests handled within established response time standards
  • Pricing proposals submitted without material errors on a consistent basis • At-risk orders flagged and escalated before customer-facing delivery failures occur
  • Outside sales representatives report high satisfaction with internal support quality during travel periods

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • 3-5+ years of inside sales, sales operations, or sales support experience, preferably in energy, utilities, or industrial distribution
  • Proficiency in Salesforce CRM, including building reports, dashboards, and automating workflows
  • Demonstrated experience managing pricing, quotes, or contracts in a B2B environment
  • Strong order management and coordination skills; ability to manage multiple active accounts simultaneously
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to represent ASDI professionally in all customer interactions
  • Highly organized with disciplined approach to data entry, follow-through, and process adherence
  • Salesforce Administrator certification or equivalent experience preferred · Familiarity with commodity pricing dynamics and energy or fuel distribution markets preferred
