Inside Sales / Counter Sales Representative


Iron City Pipe & Supply — Athens, Ohio
Full-Time | Monday–Friday | 7:00 AM–4:00 PM

Iron City Pipe & Supply is looking for a dependable, customer-focused Inside Sales / Counter Sales Representative to join our Athens team. 


This position works directly with contractors, industrial customers, municipalities, and other trade professionals to help identify products, prepare quotes, process orders, and make sure customers get the materials they need.


This is not a traditional retail counter position. Our customers rely on our sales team for product knowledge, accuracy, responsiveness, and help finding solutions. The ideal candidate is comfortable working in a fast-paced industrial supply environment and enjoys building long-term relationships with customers.


Responsibilities

  • Assist customers at the sales counter and by phone or email
  • Identify customer needs and recommend appropriate products and materials
  • Prepare quotes, enter sales orders, and process customer purchases accurately
  • Answer product, pricing, availability, and order-status questions
  • Develop strong working relationships with customers and provide dependable follow-through
  • Coordinate with purchasing, outside sales, and warehouse personnel to fulfill customer orders
  • Locate products and help customers identify alternatives when needed
  • Assist with pulling, staging, and loading customer orders when necessary
  • Help maintain accurate inventory and a clean, organized sales counter and showroom
  • Learn and maintain knowledge of the products and industries we serve
  • Provide the knowledgeable, responsive service our customers expect from Iron City Pipe & Supply


Qualifications

  • Previous experience in industrial supply, PVF, plumbing, construction, hardware, wholesale distribution, or a related industry is preferred
  • Previous inside sales, counter sales, or customer service experience is a plus
  • Strong communication and customer-service skills
  • Comfortable learning technical products and helping customers solve problems
  • Basic computer skills and ability to learn our order-entry and inventory systems
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple customer needs
  • Dependable, organized, and willing to work as part of a team
  • Ability to safely lift and handle materials weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Valid driver's license
