JOB SUMMARY
The associate nurse manager and educator role in collaboration with the nurse manager and organizational development leads frontline nursing staff in the delivery of patient care. The associate nurse manager coaches and guides nursing staff in the implementation of action plans to achieve organizational goals of quality, efficiency, and excellence in practice. Educator responsibilities include assess, plan, implement, and evaluate orientation and departmental educational needs.
Adoption of innovative nursing practices based on evidence
Effective two-way communication and problem-solving at the unit and organizational level
Collaborates with the nurse manager to complete the recruitment, selection, orientation, and retention of nursing staff
Ensure nursing staff compliance with the following;
  • Professional development
  • Adherence to nursing standards of practice
  • Regulatory standards
  • ANA Code of Ethics
  • Peer reviews
  • Organizational and unit policies
  • Mandatory education
  • Infection control practice
  • Scheduling processes and procedures
  • I CARE standards of behavior.

Collaborates with the nurse manager on budget development, utilization, evaluation, and adjustment
Maintenance of a healthy work environment utilizing the principles of "just culture", which neither holds the nurse accountable for system failures nor tolerates reckless behavior.
Provides input into the evaluation and evaluates clinical nurses as assigned
Mentors charge nurses, and clinical nurses
Implement changes in nursing practice and/or patient care through shared governance
Patient and employee rounding in collaboration with the nurse manager
In the absence of the nurse manager, the associate nurse manager assumes the nurse manager's responsibilities.
Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate orientation and educational opportunities for new and established employees.
This position requires full understanding and active participation in fulfilling the Mission of Blessing Corporate Services, ICARE standards, adherence to the Code of Conduct, organization policies, ANA Scope and Standards of Nursing Administration and Code of Ethics for Nurses.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Training/Experience:
REQUIRED:
  • Graduate of an RN School of Nursing
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing
  • Previous leadership related experience

License/Certifications/Special Requirements:
  • Current Illinois Registered Professional Nurse License.
  • National Nursing Leadership Certification (when eligible).
  • ACLS (within 6 months of hire)
  • Preferred: Related Nursing Specialty Certification
