JOB SUMMARY
Provides administrative and billing support by reviewing insurance claims, processing patient account refunds, resolving account issues, and maintaining accurate records. Assists with reporting to identify inconsistencies, completes special projects, and performs additional duties as assigned.

  • Work schedule: Flex-shift with 1 day per week in the office. Additional details regarding this will be discussed during the interview.
  • Candidates must live in the Greater DFW area in order to come into the office once per week.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION
Required

  • Education
    Associate's Degree or
    High School Diploma
  • Experience
    2 years' experience with medical billing or claims processing, knowledge of billing and/or collections rules and regulations with Associate's Degree or
    4 year's experience with medical billing or claims processing, knowledge of billing and/or collections rules and regulations with High School Diploma.

JOB DUTIES

  • Reviews insurance claims through the billing system, including Medicaid, Medicare, third party payers.
  • Documents patient accounts related to returned refund checks.
  • Prepares and submits Stop Payment requests for returned patient refund checks.
  • Identifies problems and inconsistencies by using management reports and summarizes findings.
  • Reviews and resolves correspondence from all organizations.
  • Completes special projects as requested.
  • Locates and compiles Medicaid Remittance & Status reports for submitting to Cashiers Office.
  • Makes corrections to failed credit card refunds.
  • Mails letters to insurance companies.
  • Provides support to Account Auditors
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
