Title: Innovation Lab Assistant

Job Summary:

The Innovation Lab Assistant will support the STEM departments and the work of the Coordinator of STEM Initiatives. The Assistant will monitor use of the Innovation Lab, participate in, support, and/or plan events to be held in the Innovation Lab, and generally support and promote programs and courses in STEM areas (science, technology, engineering, and math). The position will provide opportunities to learn new skills (such as soldering, computer-aided design, coding, 3-D printing, laser cutting) and to assist students in workshops that are designed to teach these skills to a wide audience.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Track and monitor the use of the Innovation Lab
  • Assist with planning, development, and hosting Innovation Lab workshops and outreach events
  • Maintain Innovation Lab spaces and perform inventory management of supplies and equipment
  • Meet and support CCA students interested in STEM. Answer general questions about STEM resources, programs, and workshops
  • Support the Coordinator of STEM Initiatives with general tasks

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Willing to assist or lead presentations/workshops for students

  • Interested in the fields of STEM and/or STEM education
  • Work-study eligible

Work-Study Eligibility Requirements
This position is available exclusively to CCA students who are eligible to participate in the Federal Work-Study program. If you are unsure whether you qualify for work-study, please contact the Financial Aid Office at 303-360-4709 or email financialaid@ccaurora.edu for assistance.
Eligibility Requirements:

  • Must have a completed FAFSA on file
  • Must be enrolled in a minimum of six (6) credit hours
  • Must not have already earned a first bachelor’s degree
  • Must be pursuing an eligible program of study

Selection Process:

All submitted applications will undergo an initial review to verify work-study eligibility. Applicants who meet the eligibility requirements will have their applications forwarded to the hiring manager for consideration. The hiring manager will contact selected candidates to schedule an interview.
Applicants who do not meet work-study eligibility requirements will not be advanced in the selection process. Questions regarding work-study eligibility should be directed to the Financial Aid Office.
