Requirements: A bachelor's degree is required. The incumbent must have demonstrated knowledge of NCAA rules and a commitment to the academic development of student-athletes. Must demonstrate excellent communication, customer service, interpersonal, and organizational skills. Attention to detail and the ability to work effectively with diverse populations are essential. Candidates must be self-motivated, capable of making independent decisions, and able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Creativity and innovation are also valued. Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel, along with familiarity with other Microsoft Office applications, is required. A solid understanding of competition and safety regulations is necessary. The candidate must consistently represent the University in a professional manner and demonstrate the ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all situations. Must demonstrate respect for others in the workplace and a commitment to creating a supportive work environment that values the contributions of all employees.
Responsibilities include (but are not limited to): โ€ข Teach and support the development of student-athletes in the sport of soccer at the NCAA Division II varsity level. โ€ข Assist the Head Coach with recruiting activities, including evaluating and communicating with prospective student-athletes and completing required compliance documentation in a timely manner. โ€ข Assist the head coach in the scouting of future opponents. โ€ข Provide instruction for team members, including the preparation, planning, and conducting of practice sessions. โ€ข Demonstrate knowledge of and operate in alignment with the missions and values of Wilmington University and NCAA Division II athletics. โ€ข Teach student-athletes' specific tasks while serving as a mentor to team members. โ€ข Assist the Head Coach with the coordination and supervision of team travel. โ€ข Complete the NCAA Recruiting Exam annually and maintain knowledge of applicable NCAA rules, regulations, and compliance expectations. โ€ข Promote and foster a supportive environment for all students, faculty, and staff. โ€ข Perform other duties which may be assigned by the Head Coach and/or the Director of Athletics.
Hours of Employment: Primarily evening hours; however, the incumbent must be flexible enough to meet the needs of the department and the University. Some weekends and travel may be required.
