Job description

Job Title: Dean of Homeschool Enrichment

Location: Ascent Classical Academy of Grand Junction (ACAGJ); Hybrid

FLSA Status: Exempt

Reports to: Headmaster

Salary: $64,000-$65,000 annually, prorated based on FTE

Work Hours/Days: Extended Year Calendar-30 hours per week during the school year, mostly following the school day schedule and staff work days during the school year. This is a .4FTE position.

Position Summary: The Dean of Homeschool Enrichment's role is to promote our school's mission by providing successful leadership for the new homeschool enrichment program. This includes coaching and supporting part-time faculty who teach to working with interested families through the enrollment and registration process. As a Dean-level position, significant leadership skills are required to lead this new program.

Essential Functions:

  • Promote the school's mission and vision
  • Build an excellent school culture by holding students and staff to high scholarly and behavioral standards and modeling our school's 7 core virtues
  • Hire, coach, and support homeschool enrichment teachers and support staff in classical classroom management and pedagogy, parent communication, and goal-setting for personal development
  • Coordinate key partnerships with external vendors for the leased space
  • Assemble materials and supply lists for each school year and support the purchasing and inventory specialists
  • Provide timely communication to teachers and staff about upcoming events, development opportunities, and deadlines
  • Assist teachers in setting up gradebooks, planning for parent-teacher conferences, and related tasks as needed
  • Help with parent information nights and outreach events as needed
  • Manage student discipline concerns in a timely manner
  • Actively contribute in school leadership team meetings on an as-needed basis (weekly or quarterly)
  • Complete all required training and provide documentation as well as official college transcripts within 90 days of hire date
  • Demonstrate consistent and reliable attendance by adhering to assigned work hours, reporting on time, and following proper procedures for absences or tardiness to ensure minimal disruption to students, colleagues, and school operations
  • Demonstrate proficiency in both written and spoken English to effectively perform their job responsibilities and communicate in the workplace
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Commitment to the mission and vision of Ascent Classical Academy Charter Schools of Colorado
  • Commitment to high moral character necessary to sustain ordered liberty and constitutional self-government
  • Extensive classroom and/or homeschooling co-op experience preferred
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills, and the ability to effectively articulate information and issues
  • Superior organization, communication, and computer skills
  • Proven ability to work in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment
  • Ability to develop positive and professional relationships with team members
  • Ability to provide excellent customer service and always maintain confidentiality and professionalism
  • Willingness to support the school leadership team as needed
  • Adherence to all school policies.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds
  • Must be able to traverse the classroom and the school
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk, working on a computer
  • Must be able to supervise outdoor duties
