Part-Time Evening Or Night RN

Maple Lawn Senior Care is looking for a part-time evening or night RN to join our team! Our mission is to provide fine quality healthcare, housing and support services for area seniors in an individualized, dignified, and homelike manner.

Responsibilities
  • Manage and monitor work of other nursing staff in unit to ensure thoroughness.
  • Required to use telephones to communicate with physicians, arrange for transportation for doctor appointments, and contact families.
  • Make rounds to ensure cleanliness and proper care to residents.
  • Coordinate care of residents.
  • Assist nursing staff members according to needs.
  • Required to take and record temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and respiration rate.
  • Required to chart information regarding residents, progress, medication taken, comments made by resident, observations and care plan review.
  • Required to administer the medication either by pill or injection.
  • Required to discuss progress of resident with supervising nursing staff and document information given by nursing staff.
  • Required to stock and prepare medication cart for rounds.
  • May be required to apply eye ointment to resident.
  • While not administering medication, may be required to take medication orders from physician, fill out charts, assist residents with whatever requests they may have.
  • Required to monitor any skin problems that the residents may have and treat accordingly.
  • May be required to administer insulin injections.
  • May be required to insert foley catheters and complete catheter irrigations.
  • May be required to stock and prepare medication cart.
  • May be required to bathe, dress, and assist residents in walking.
  • Required to observe and instruct Nursing Assistants.
  • Required to provide all information regarding residents to the supervising RN as to their progress and care.
  • Responsible for following company safety rules.
  • Promptly respond to resident call lights as needed.
  • Maintain a safe, homelike environment where residents feel comfortable. Special attention will be given to cleanliness, ventilation and lighting.
  • Transport residents as needed.
  • Perform duties according to company policies and procedures.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Two or more years of nursing education
  • Current Minnesota licensure as a Registered Nurse
  • Able to perform basic math related to nursing and general math knowledge for budgeting.
  • Understands concepts related to nursing and has ability to think and discover and propose alternative methods.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 products such as calendar, email, WORD and Excel. Experience with online electronic medical records also required.
  • The employee must be able to tolerate a fast pace as typical for a nursing facility.
  • Must be able to give instructions well and enjoy working with the elderly.
  • Must have excellent interpersonal and management skills.
  • Must have experience or obtain training in rehabilitation nursing, gerontology, nursing service administration, management, supervision, and psychiatric or geriatric nursing before or within the first 12 months after appointment as director of nursing services
