The Senior Infrastructure & Systems Engineer will be a key contributor within the IT Operations organization and is responsible for the reliability, security, and performance of primarily on-premises enterprise infrastructure. This role partners closely with IT leadership, development teams, and business stakeholders to support and enhance enterprise systems.
The Senior Infrastructure & Systems Engineer reports directly to the Director of IT and works collaboratively across departments. This is a full-time on-site position at the Headquarters Office in Santa Barbara, CA.
Core Responsibilities and Functions:
  • Engineer, administer, and support enterprise infrastructure environments (primarily on-premises) including VMware and Microsoft platforms
  • Manage enterprise network infrastructure including routing, switching, firewalls, VPNs, and perimeter security
  • Design and maintain identity and access management systems (Active Directory, permissions, account lifecycle)
  • Administer Microsoft 365, Exchange, and collaboration platforms (Teams, VoIP)
  • Support enterprise applications, SQL environments, and business systems
  • Operate and continuously improve IT service management processes and workflows
  • Monitor system performance and proactively resolve infrastructure issues
  • Perform patching, vulnerability remediation, and system hardening
  • Support SIEM, logging, and security monitoring initiatives
  • Provide advanced troubleshooting across systems, servers, and network infrastructure
  • Support remote workforce operations, including home network analysis when required
  • Collaborate continuously with IT staff via Microsoft Teams for awareness of tasks and priorities
  • Maintain documentation, SOPs, and operational standards
  • Lead IT infrastructure and operational projects including planning, execution, and reporting
  • Conduct quarterly internal system and security audits
  • Lead and support annual SOC and cybersecurity audit preparation, assessment, and remediation
  • Support compliance initiatives and regulatory audit requirements
  • Collaborate with vendors and internal stakeholders
  • Mentor junior IT staff
  • Participate in on-call rotation
  • Other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Experience:
  • Bachelor's Degree in IT, Computer Science, or equivalent experience
  • 5-8+ years of enterprise infrastructure/systems engineering experience
  • Strong experience with VMware, Windows Server, Active Directory, and Microsoft 365
  • Strong understanding of enterprise networking concepts
  • Experience with scripting/automation (PowerShell preferred)
  • Experience with monitoring tools and SIEM platforms
  • Experience supporting audits, compliance, and security remediation
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Certifications:
  • Microsoft Certifications (Azure, Microsoft 365, Identity & Security)
  • VMware (VCP or equivalent)
  • Cisco (CCNA or equivalent)
  • CompTIA (Security+, Network+)
  • Security certifications (CISSP, CySA+, or equivalent)

Pay:
$125,000 - $165,000 annual, depending upon experience.
