Job Description
This position will lead a variety of projects and programs to ensure Quest Diagnostics is efficient and effective in the delivery of its services, solutions, and processes while improving customer and employee satisfaction.
Work Schedule: Hybrid (3 days onsite, 2 days work from home)
Internal Grade: 51

Pay Range: $120,000 - $155,000/ year, 15% Bonus
Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, certifications obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. Successful candidates may be eligible to receive annual performance bonus compensation.

Responsibilities
  • Build and maintain a best-in-class PMO through training and utilization of best practices
  • Lead projects to effectively plan, execute, monitor, and close projects
    • Works through issues and roadblocks
      • Acts as a change agent to drive teams toward success
      • Guides team members to perform through issues and constraints
      • Promptly addresses risks to project targets
    • Owns projects
      • Owns the timeline, budget, resource constraints, and deliverables/results
      • Shifts between the "big picture" and the small-but-crucial details
      • Is prepared to roll up their sleeves and work through detailed issues
    • Manages projects
      • Effectively applies appropriate tools to achieve project targets (e.g. charter, change management, Gantt charts, bowlers, etc)
    • Communicates
      • Actively communicates with project sponsors, stakeholders, and regional leadership
      • Establishes and maintains a regular cadence to ensure projects achieve targets
      • Manages sponsor and stakeholders expectations
    • Delivers the expected results
      • Performs root cause analysis on project shortfalls and takes corrective action as necessary
  • Applies project management tools and techniques, toward a variety of large, and likely inter-related, projects
  • Establishes and leads programs comprised of multiple projects, including designing how information is rolled up and cascaded down, operating rhythms and mechanisms, and tracking against the integrated set of milestones and deliverables
  • Coaches other employees on the use of project/program management tools, concepts and practices in order for Quest Diagnostics employees to build self-sufficiency, sustainability and scalability
  • Leads Project Management training sessions

Qualifications
Required Work Experience:
  • 7+ years leading large scale projects/programs
  • 5+ years working in a regulated environment
  • Track record of successful project execution (timeline, budget, etc)
  • PMP Certification

Preferred Work Experience:
  • 3+ years working in a laboratory environment
  • 3+ years experience in Policy Deployment/Hoshin Kanri/strategy design & execution
  • Experience building the infrastructure for a best-in-class PMO
  • Experience leading projects across functions (Operations, commercial, administrative, etc)

Physical and Mental Requirements:
  • The normal performance of duties may require lifting and carrying objects
  • Frequent walking, sitting, and/or standing

Knowledge:
  • Demonstrated experience leading large or complex projects with multiple workstreams from initiation to completion
  • Demonstrated ability to develop strong relationships with others
  • Demonstrated experience leading changes
  • Demonstrated ability to influence business leaders
  • General knowledge of Hoshin and breakthrough planning
