The Opportunity
Black & Veatch is seeking a motivated professional to join our Infrastructure Advisory organization as a Manager - Infrastructure Technology Systems. In this role, you will help utility clients plan, modernize, and implement business and technology solutions that improve operational performance, enable digital transformation, and support asset lifecycle management.
You will work alongside clients, technology vendors, and project teams to deliver consulting services across utility business and operational systems, helping organizations align their people, processes, data, and technologies to meet evolving business objectives.
This position offers the opportunity to contribute to transformational initiatives involving utility operations, customer systems, enterprise applications, operational technologies, data platforms, and digital business processes.
The Team
Black & Veatch's Infrastructure Advisory business delivers solutions across the asset lifecycle, including Asset Management, Infrastructure Technology Systems, Cybersecurity, Planning, and Transactions.
The Delivery team partners with utilities and infrastructure organizations to define technology strategies, improve business processes, implement enterprise and operational systems, and support digital transformation initiatives. We work closely with client stakeholders to improve business performance and enable data-driven decision making through modern technology solutions.
You will collaborate with cross-functional teams of consultants, engineers, data specialists, and technology experts to deliver practical, data-driven solutions.
Key Responsibilities
As a Manager, you will support both technical delivery and client engagement across a range of infrastructure technology initiatives:
Client Delivery
  • Lead delivery of consulting workstreams related to utility technology modernization and business transformation initiatives.
  • Conduct assessments of business processes, organizational capabilities, technology platforms, and operational practices.
  • Document current-state and future-state business processes, operating models, and functional requirements.
  • Develop solution recommendations, implementation roadmaps, and business cases.
  • Support utility system implementation programs, including business requirements definition, design reviews, testing support, and deployment planning.
  • Analyze project, operational, and business data to identify risks, opportunities, and performance improvement recommendations.
  • Develop executive-level reports, presentations, dashboards, and client deliverables.

Stakeholder Engagement
  • Facilitate client workshops, interviews, requirements sessions, and decision-making meetings.
  • Build relationships with client stakeholders across business, operational, and technology functions.
  • Present findings, recommendations, and project updates to management and executive audiences.
  • Support organizational change and adoption activities associated with technology transformation initiatives

Project and Program Support
  • Lead workstream planning and coordination activities.
  • Support project governance processes including schedule management, issue tracking, risk management, and status reporting.
  • Coordinate activities among client teams, technology vendors, and Black & Veatch project resources.
  • Contribute to development of project approaches, scope definitions, and implementation plans.

Business Development
  • Support proposal development, scope definition, and fee estimates.
  • Participate in client pursuits and business development opportunities.
  • Contribute to development of methodologies, tools, thought leadership, and reusable consulting assets.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience leading workstreams or major project deliverables in a consulting or transformation environment.
  • Experience facilitating stakeholder meetings, workshops, and requirements sessions.
  • Strong verbal, written, analytical, and presentation skills
  • Experience in utility industry domains (electric, gas, water) and familiarity with operational or enterprise systems
  • Exposure to system implementations such as ADMS, DERMS, CIS, EAM, or similar digital platforms
  • Experience supporting utility clients within electric, gas, water, or wastewater sectors.
  • Experience developing business requirements, functional designs, process flows, or implementation roadmaps.
  • Experience with Agile, Scrum, or SAFe delivery methodologies.
  • Experience with project governance, PMO functions, or transformation program management.
  • Experience using tools such as Azure DevOps, Jira, Power BI, Microsoft Project, Visio, or similar platforms.
  • Master's degree in Business, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree or relevant work experience.
  • 7+ years experience in a business/consulting environment.
