Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Director of IT Infrastructure to lead our technology operations. As a member of the department's leadership team, the incumbent will contribute to the development and execution of the organizational technology strategy, ensure its alignment with the organization's business strategy and ensure the delivery of capabilities required to achieve business success.
This role requires a strategic thinker with a deep understanding of IT infrastructure, proven management skills, and familiarity with Azure and AWS cloud services. The Director of IT Infrastructure will possess project management skills to ensure the highest level of performance and security in our technology systems, excellent vendor management skills, and a superior, service-oriented approach to IT.
Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic Planning: Develop and execute comprehensive IT infrastructure strategies aligned with the company's goals.
  • Management: Lead and mentor a team of IT professionals, fostering an environment of collaboration and continuous improvement.
  • Project Management: Possess project management skills to ensure IT infrastructure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Cloud Services: Manage and optimize cloud services, including Azure and AWS, ensuring efficient and secure utilization.
  • System Design: Architect and implement scalable and resilient IT infrastructure solutions.
  • Performance Monitoring: Monitor system performance and implement improvements to maximize efficiency.
  • Security: Ensure the highest level of security across all IT systems and infrastructure.
  • Vendor Management: Manage relationships with external vendors and service providers.
  • Budgeting: Assist with the development and management of the IT infrastructure budget, ensuring optimal resource allocation.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.

Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in IT infrastructure management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Technical Skills: In-depth knowledge of IT infrastructure design and implementation, including familiarity with Azure and AWS cloud services.
  • Management Skills: Proven experience in team building, leadership, and project management.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Problem-solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make informed decisions under pressure.
  • Certifications: Relevant certifications in cloud services and IT management are a plus.
  • AI Initiatives: Help drive digital transformation initiatives with a focus on data management and process optimization and automation.
  • Additional Requirements: Some domestic travel is expected. Must be able to work a flexible schedule, work independently, manage vendors, develop rapport, and maintain effective working relationships with leadership and staff.

Technologies
  • Systems: Microsoft technologies including Windows Server (2016-2022) and Active Directory. Linux including RHEL and Ubuntu.
  • Network: Cisco including NGFW, SNA, ISE, SDWAN. Palo Alto firewalls.
  • Storage: NetApp, TrueNAS
  • Cloud: Azure technologies including EntraID, O365, Teams, Intune (MDM and PC management), Subscriptions, billing. AWS including IaaS, billing, security. Experience with migrations from on-premise AD to Azure and Azure tenant to tenant (with or without MSP involvement) a big plus.

Time Allocation
  • Leadership Functions: Approximately 55% of the time will be dedicated to performing leadership functions, including strategic planning, team management, and vendor management.
  • Daily Operations Support: About 40% of the time will be spent on daily operations support, ensuring the smooth functioning of IT systems and infrastructure.
  • Other Duties: The remaining 5% of the time will be allocated to other duties as required.
