The Senior Infrastructure Engineer is the senior technical authority and people leader for the infrastructure side of the combined department. This role owns the design and integrity of the server, virtualization, storage, cloud, and identity environments, and carries direct responsibility for the largest body of inflight infrastructure work, including the Data Center Refresh and the ongoing maturation of the Azure and on-premises footprint.

Beyond technical ownership, this is a leadership role. The Senior Infrastructure Engineer manages four members of the team and serves as the primary point of delegation for infrastructure, database, security, and blended junior work. The position is built so the department operates as a layered organization rather than a flat one, giving senior staff the authority to set standards, balance workload, and develop the people beneath them. A high degree of identity management and cloud management expertise is essential, as identity and cloud sit at the center of both the current roadmap and the future state of the department.
