Advanced Technology & Research Corporation (www.atrcorp.com) is seeking to fill the following full-time permanent position. PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The successful applicant will join ATR's Engineering Services Division, working as a team member at our government client site involved in provision and managing Linux and Windows systems for Naval Surface Warfare Center, Carderock Division, West Bethesda.  Duties include, but not limited to:
  • Responsible for managing and maintaining both Linux and Windows server environments, including installation, and configuration.
  • Monitor the health of the Linux and Windows system through both automated and manual processes.
  • Diagnose and resolve Linux, Windows Server and Windows desktop OS issues
  • Develop, implement and maintain security measures and policies across information systems.
  • Develop mitigation strategies to protect sensitive data and systems from cyber threats.
  • Manage and deploy Windows updates and patches.
  • Configure and troubleshoot wireless networks and access points.
  • Manage DNS and DHCP servers.
  • Set up and maintain VPN connections for secure remote access.
  • Process and manage IT requests (for access, purchasing, issues, etc.).
  • Create and maintain system documentation.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
  • Minimum Bachelor of Science degree in IT or related field.
  • Professional certifications (minimum Security+).
  • 5+ years of experience working in Computer Science or IT/IA related field.
SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIREMENTS:
  • Strong knowledge of Linux and Windows operating systems and network operation.
  • Knowledge of information system administration and network hardening techniques through group policies and security template.
  • Knowledge of security principles and methods such as firewalls and encryption.
  • Ability to work with both hardware, software, network, and operating systems.
  • Ability to data transferring and data backup and archiving.
  • Ability to recover failed systems and servers.
  • Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate, orally and in writing.
  • Proficient in Active Directory administration (user/group management, GPOs).
  • Knowledge of Navy computer security regulations, policies and directives is a plus.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Candidate must be a US citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance or favorable adjudication of a national security background investigation. Current successful background investigation completion is a plus.
