Albany International Corp. is a global advanced textiles and materials processing company. The company has two core businesses, The Machine Clothing segment is the world's leading producer of custom-designed fabrics and belts essential to production in the paper, nonwovens, and other process industries and Albany Engineered Composites (AEC) is a rapidly growing supplier of highly engineered composite parts for the aerospace industry.
Position Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented HRIS Intern to join our HR Operations and Technology team. In this role, you will support key HR technology initiatives, including the implementation and optimization of SAP SuccessFactors Compensation, Onboarding, and Recruiting modules. Also, you will serve as the first point of contact for inquiries through the AskHR Help Desk ensuring timely and accurate support for employees.
As the ideal candidate, you have a strong interest in data management, including data organization, reporting, and basic query logic. You should demonstrate excellent analytical and organizational skills and a proactive approach to learning and problem-solving.
This internship provides real-world, hands-on experience in HR systems administration, configuration, and employee support.
Key Responsibilities
  • SuccessFactors Implementation: Support cross-functional project teams by preparing and validating data for migration, participating in testing cycles, contributing to documentation, and helping develop training materials.
  • AskHR Help Desk: Responsible for first response of employee inquiries. Accurately triage, resolve, or route cases to the appropriate HR team members while maintaining a high level of customer service and attention to detail.
  • Data Management and Quality: Perform data entry, auditing, and routine maintenance, ensuring people data is accurate and complete.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Create and update process documentation and knowledge-base articles. Generate reports, dashboards, or data extracts to support HR initiatives, internal audits, or leadership requests.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvement, enhanced system usability, or improved data workflows.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with HR, IT, and other business partners to support projects, adhoc requests, and day-to-day HRIS activities.

Qualifications
  • Currently pursuing a degree in Human Resources, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Business Administration, or a related field, with at least two years of coursework completed.
  • Minimum GPA 3.0
  • Strong interest in HRIS and HR technology.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proactive and eager to learn new systems and processes.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and complete assigned work independently.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
