Overview

We are seeking an experienced Information Architect to support a large-scale intranet transformation initiative focused on improving the employee experience through intuitive content organization, navigation, and information design.


This role will play a critical part in redesigning and optimizing a global corporate intranet by developing scalable information architecture, content taxonomy, navigation structures, and governance standards. The ideal candidate will combine strong user-centered design principles with enterprise content management experience to improve usability, accessibility, searchability, and content discoverability across the organization.


This position will work closely with business stakeholders, content owners, UX teams, and developers to create a modern, efficient, and scalable intranet experience.


Key Responsibilities

Information Architecture & Content Strategy

  • Design and develop enterprise information architecture frameworks, including navigation structures, site maps, taxonomies, and metadata models
  • Organize content in a logical and intuitive manner to improve findability, usability, and user experience
  • Establish naming conventions, content classifications, and governance standards
  • Create wireframes, navigation models, and content organization frameworks to guide design and development teams
  • Ensure content architecture supports long-term scalability and maintainability

Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Partner with business stakeholders to gather requirements and understand user needs
  • Collaborate with content owners, UX designers, developers, and project teams throughout the implementation process
  • Present recommendations and architecture decisions to stakeholders and leadership teams
  • Support change management and user adoption initiatives

User Experience & Optimization

  • Conduct usability testing and incorporate user feedback into architecture improvements
  • Analyze content structures and user journeys to optimize navigation and accessibility
  • Ensure information architecture supports a seamless experience across multiple devices and platforms
  • Leverage AI-enabled approaches to support content tagging, recommendations, and content discoverability

Documentation & Governance

  • Develop and maintain detailed architecture documentation, standards, and design artifacts
  • Ensure compliance with organizational governance, accessibility, and content management standards
  • Support ongoing maintenance and evolution of information architecture frameworks


Qualifications

  • Proven experience as an Information Architect supporting intranet, digital workplace, or enterprise content management initiatives
  • Strong understanding of information architecture principles, content strategy, taxonomy development, and user-centered design
  • Experience creating:
    • Site Maps
    • Navigation Models
    • Taxonomies
    • Metadata Schemas
    • Wireframes
    • User Flows
  • Ability to translate complex information into clear, intuitive, user-friendly structures
  • Strong communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills
  • Experience facilitating requirements gathering and driving consensus among diverse stakeholder groups
  • Familiarity with usability testing methodologies and user research practices


Preferred Experience

  • Experience with SharePoint Online, Microsoft 365, or enterprise content management platforms
  • Knowledge of accessibility standards and digital experience best practices
  • Experience supporting large-scale intranet modernization or digital transformation initiatives
  • Experience working within agile project environments and cross-functional global teams
