Job description

*This position is a Limited Tenure position.  

 Limited Tenure (LT) means that if you are offered the position and accept it:

     You will be categorized as a regular employee during this tenure, but employment will be terminated at the established end date.
     You commit to stay in this position until the end of the tenure (approximately 12 months from date of hire) before you become eligible to transfer to a new              position.
     After the completion of the limited tenure assignment, it is your responsibility to secure another role within Mayo through the job vacancy process or                       employment will be ended upon the completion of the limited tenure assignment.

  • Minimum of 3 years of clinical experience is preferred
  • Must be a local resident within the greater Phoenix area 
  • Internal candidates must have 2 years of work experience with Mayo Clinic
  • External candidates must have a minimum of 2 years of clinical informatics experience

The Informatics Nurse- PG 139 (42.31 to 63.50 hr) 

works within the scope of a project to deliver informatics solutions that support the practice from planning through full adoption. The Informatics Nurse works on design and use of informatics solutions that support the vision and mission of Mayo Clinic. They serve as a bridge between all clinical and operational departments linking clinical practice, processes, technology and information to enhance patient care across all Mayo locations. Coordinates the change management process including revising workflows and standardizing policies to successfully implement automated systems. The American Nurses Association (ANA) Scope and Standards of Nursing Informatics Practice, ANA Nursing: Scope and Standards of Practice, ANA Code of Ethics for Nurses provides the basis for practice.

The Informatics Nurse Specialist (INS) PG 142 (46.24 to 69.39 hr)

provides leadership, consultation, and direction for information technology that impacts clinical nursing information management from planning through evaluation. The INS is an expert in the design and use of informatics solutions that support the vision and mission of Mayo Clinic. The INS serves as a bridge between the Department of Nursing and other institutional groups, linking clinical practice, technology, and information management to enhance patient care. The American Nurses Association (ANA) Scope and Standards of Nursing Informatics Practice, ANA Nursing: Scope and Standards of Practice, ANA Code of Ethics for Nurses provides the basis for practice.

Informatics Clinician  - PG 137 (39.86 to 59.84 hr)

The Informatics Clinician works within the scope of a project to deliver informatics solutions that support the practice from planning through full adoption. The Informatics Clinician works on design and use of informatics solutions that support the vision and mission of Mayo Clinic. They serve as a bridge between all clinical and operational departments linking clinical practice, processes, technology and information to enhance patient care across all Mayo locations. Coordinates the change management process, including revising workflows and standardizing policies to successfully implement automated systems.

Informatics Clinician:

Bachelor's degree in healthcare-related field. Minimum of three years clinical experience in healthcare preferred. Ability to develop effective working relationships throughout the organization. Demonstrated computer literacy with strong knowledge of software applications. Experience in training or teaching others. Strong project leadership, organizational and planning skills. Ability to communicate effectively (written and oral). Epic certified or proficiency required within six months of hire date. Epic certified or proficiency required within six months of hire date. Must maintain relevant certification and/or licensure as related to qualifying education at time of hire, if applicable.

Informatics Clinical Specialist:

Master's degree in a healthcare-related field, or a Bachelor's degree in healthcare related-field with a Master's degree. Minimum of three years clinical experience in healthcare required. Evidence of advanced knowledge and competence in Informatics. Ability to develop effective working relationships throughout the organization. Ability to apply an evidence base practice to informatics. Experience in training or teaching others. Demonstrated computer literacy with strong knowledge of software applications. Project management experience preferred. Epic certified or proficiency required within six months of hire date. Must maintain relevant certification and/or licensure as related to qualifying education at time of hire, if applicable. National certification in CPHIMS - Certified Professional in Healthcare Information Management Systems within two years of hire date or Certified Healthcare Technology Associate (AHIMA) within one year of hire date is highly recommended.

Informatics Nurse:

Graduate of a baccalaureate Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) or Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE)accredited nursing program. If graduated from a nursing program that was not accredited by ACEN or CCNE, at least one year of RN experience (within the last five years) in an applicable care setting is required. Minimum of three years clinical experience in healthcare preferred. Ability to develop effective working relationships throughout the organization. Demonstrated computer literacy with strong knowledge of software applications. Experience in training or teaching others. Strong project leadership, organizational and planning skills. Ability to communicate effectively (written and oral). Epic Certified or proficiency required within six months of hire date. Current RN licensure in applicable state.

Informatics Nurse Specialist:

Master's degree in Nursing, or a Bachelor's degree in Nursing with a Master's degree in healthcare-related field. Minimum of three years clinical experience in healthcare preferred. Evidence of advanced knowledge and competence in Nursing Informatics. Ability to develop effective working relationships throughout the organization. Ability to apply an evidence base to nursing informatics. Project management experience preferred. Experience in training or teaching others.
