Title: Dental Assistant
LOCATION: New Bedford, MA
Shift: Day
Job Description:
As a Dental Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting our dental team and ensuring the smooth operation of our practice. You will work closely with dentists, hygienists, and other dental professionals to deliver exceptional care to our patients. This position offers an exciting opportunity to gain valuable experience in the field of dentistry and make a meaningful impact on the oral health and well-being of our community.
Responsibilities:
  • Prepare treatment rooms for patient procedures by ensuring they are clean, organized, and stocked with necessary supplies and equipment.
  • Assist dentists and hygienists during dental procedures by handing them instruments, providing suction, and other chairside assistance as needed.
  • Take and develop dental x-rays, ensuring high-quality images for diagnostic purposes.
  • Perform various laboratory duties, including pouring and trimming models, fabricating temporary crowns, and processing dental impressions.
  • Sterilize and disinfect dental instruments and equipment according to infection control protocols.
  • Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and provide instructions for post-operative care.
  • Maintain accurate patient records, including treatment plans, progress notes, and digital x-rays.
  • Schedule patient appointments and assist with billing and insurance-related tasks as needed.
  • Uphold HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality at all times.
  • Assist with administrative duties, such as answering phones, greeting patients, and managing patient files.

Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of a dental assisting program preferred.
Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) certification or Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) license preferred.

Previous experience working in a dental office or healthcare setting preferred.
