Job description

Clinical Data Analyst
ย

Job Title:
ย  Clinical Data Analyst
Department:ย  Product
Location:ย  Care Lumen | Remote (US Only)
Employment Type:ย  Full-time Employee
Salary Range:ย  $110,000 - $156,000

Scopeย

The Clinical Data Analyst is a hands-on technical role within Care Lumen's Product organization, reporting to the Senior Manager, Product Management. This role is designed for someone who is energized by turning complex clinical data into clear, actionable insights that influence product direction and customer outcomes. You will act as the subject matter expert for clinical outcomes data, helping shape how Care Lumen demonstrates value, drives clinical impact, and supports better decisionmaking for our customers.ย
In this role, you'll work closely with Product, Engineering, and Data teams to ensure clinical data is thoughtfully modeled, analytically sound, and aligned with realworld clinical workflows. Your work will span everything from defining meaningful clinical KPIs and building dashboards to influencing how data is captured, standardized, and governed at the platform level. You'll play a key role in bridging clinical concepts and technical execution, ensuring that what we build is making a meaningful impact for our customers and the lives they serve.ย
This is a highvisibility, highimpact opportunity for someone who enjoys ownership, crossfunctional collaboration, and solving ambiguous problems. You'll have a seat at the table as Care Lumen evolves its data strategy, expands interoperability, and deepens its clinical intelligence capabilities, making this an ideal role for a clinical informatics professional looking to shape products, not just analyze them.ย
  • Partner with stakeholders to define, develop, and maintain clinical KPIsย
  • Develop dashboard and reporting solutions, and the underlying data models to support them.ย
  • Collaborate with Product Managers to recommend enhancements to system functionality based on data insights and workflow analysis.ย
  • Work closely with Data Engineering and Data Governance teams to influence how clinical data is created, stored, and modeled within the platform.ย
  • Work with implementation and engineering teams to investigate and resolve data integration issues, providing analysis and recommendations to unblock client onboarding and ongoing supportย
  • Assist in monitoring clinical data pipelines and flagging anomalies, volume shifts, or quality degradation that may impact platform reliability or clinical accuracyย
  • Support product managers and engineers by analyzing clinical data requirements and translating clinical concepts into clear, structured data specificationsย
  • Stay current on healthcare interoperability standards (HL7 v2, FHIR R4, CDA/CCDA, USCDI) and standard code systems (SNOMED CT, LOINC, ICD-10-CM, RxNorm, CPT) and contribute to internal knowledge-sharing on how those standards apply to Care Lumen's dataย
  • Participate in the evaluation of new data sources, EHR connectivity patterns, and integration approaches by providing clinical data analysis and structured assessmentย

  • 8 - 10 years of experience in clinical informatics, healthcare analytics, or related fields.ย
  • Strong proficiency in SQL and experience querying large, complex datasets.ย
  • Hands-on experience with BI visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Looker).ย
  • Deep understanding of healthcare workflows, clinical data, and outcomes measurements.ย
  • Understanding of common healthcare quality measurement tools (i.e. HEDIS, CAHPS, CMS Star ratings)ย
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills - able to investigate data issues systematically, document findings clearly, and communicate recommendations to both technical and non-technical stakeholdersย
  • Detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to manage multiple concurrent analysis tasks and keep documentation currentย
  • Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Health Information Management, Computer Science, or a related field - or equivalent professional experienceย

What's Preferredย
  • Experience working in the healthcare payer space, or with care management and/or utilization management applications.ย
  • Background in public health, nursing, or other clinical disciplines is a plus.ย
  • Experience working with MongoDB or other NoSQL databases.ย
  • Hands-on experience with advanced analytics, machine learning, and AI solutions to generate clinical insights or improve healthcare outcomes.ย
  • Experience in a health-tech startup or scale-up environment where priorities shift quickly and self-direction is expectedย
The expected total cash compensation for this role is market-driven, with an expected starting salary of $110,000 - $156,000 + bonus. Salary is ultimately determined based on a candidate's skills, expertise, and experience.ย
Care Lumen offers a robust and comprehensive benefits package including:ย
  • Remote-first environment with company provided computerย
  • Thirteen paid holidays per year (average)ย
  • Medical, dental and vision coverage with multiple levels of coverageย
  • HSA, FSA and Dependent Care accountsย
  • Short-term and long-term disabilityย
  • Life and accidental death insuranceย
  • Discounted voluntary benefits, such as additional life insuranceย
  • Employee Assistance Programย
  • Paid Parental Leaveย
  • Flexible vacation timeย
  • 401(k) with employer matching and immediate vestingย

Offers are contingent upon successful completion of a background screening. Background screenings will be conducted in compliance with applicable laws and will not be initiated without your consent.ย
