Imaging Informatics Analyst
Location: Boston, Massachusetts (travel to various locations in the area)

Role Overview
A leading, multi-hospital healthcare system is seeking an Imaging Informatics Analyst to support and enhance its enterprise-wide Radiology Informatics environment. This role directly impacts physician, patient, and staff satisfaction by ensuring high availability and efficiency of PACS and imaging information systems. The analyst will serve as the primary Radiology Informatics resource for designated local hospitals while also collaborating as part of a larger system-level informatics team.
Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain and optimize the Picture Archive Communication System (PACS) environment, including upgrades, troubleshooting, and performance monitoring.
  • Support the Radiology Information System (RIS) by monitoring interfaces, resolving patient data issues, assisting technologists, and collaborating with the Radiant team.
  • Manage and support a voice recognition dictation system, including radiologist templates and macro creation.
  • Test and validate upgrades, patches, and new implementations, developing test plans for system-wide change control.
  • Orient and train radiology staff on the use of information systems like RIS, PACS, and voice recognition.
  • Recommend and implement workflow and system improvements, maintaining documentation and compliance with accreditation standards.
  • Serve as the primary informatics contact for local radiology departments, providing troubleshooting, training, and workflow guidance.
  • Generate clinical and operational reports for Radiology Services as requested.
  • Develop and maintain local radiology information policies, procedures, and accreditation-required documentation.
  • Collaborate with Revenue Cycle and Radiology Informatics leadership to ensure accurate coding and billing workflows.
Required Qualifications
Education: A Bachelor's degree is preferred.
Experience: A minimum of 3 years of experience in a clinical position within the medical field and at least 2 years of Radiology Information Systems (IS) experience. A related IS degree may be considered in lieu of the IS experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Epic Radiant.
  • Familiarity with multiple PACS platforms and imaging vendors.
  • Experience with MModal or similar voice recognition systems.
Compensation & Benefits
The anticipated pay range for this position is $30.00 to $50.00 per hour, based on experience.
