When used in job postings or descriptions, it may indicate that the role is suited for one person or that applications are being accepted from single applicants rather than teams. The specific responsibilities, qualifications, or expectations associated with the role will depend on the job itself. It's important to review the job description to understand what is expected from the individual in that particular position.

Job description

Description:

DEPARTMENT: Development

REPORTS TO: Senior Vice President of Development

x Exempt

Since 1891, Boys & Girls Clubs of San Francisco (BGCSF) has provided high-quality, community-based youth development services to youth in San Francisco. Our mission is to inspire and enable all young people, especially those from disadvantaged circumstances, to realize their full potential as productive, responsible, and caring citizens. We impact the lives of Club members, primarily ages 6 to 18, by focusing on academic success, healthy lifestyles, good character, community engagement, and job readiness with earning potential. We are nationally recognized for the high-quality of our programs and comprehensive approach to serving youth. Whether youโ€™re joining our administrative team, a Clubhouse team, a school-based team, or our Camp Mendocino team, youโ€™ll be surrounded by enthusiastic, talented, and passionate colleagues who wake up every day ready to inspire young people to reach their full potential.

Position Purpose

BGCSF is seeking an Individual Giving Manager (IGM) with a proven track record of implementing annual campaigns, securing financial support from individuals, and implementing donor-relations strategies. In partnership with other members of the development team and working under the direction of the SVP of Development and other department leaders, the IGM will implement our individual giving program to base donors. The IGM will be responsible for stewarding and cultivating relationships with certain existing donors, maintaining a list of prospective donors, and leading annual fund campaigns. The IGM is also responsible for executing a donor communication calendar and compelling copy for appeals, quarterly communications, and other solicitation and stewardship communications, working in partnership with the Director of Digital Marketing. This position will also provide regular analysis on individual giving results and areas of opportunity. The IGM plays an active role in event execution, particularly related to donor communications, donor registration, and donor experience.

This position requires exceptional passion and drive for our work and a commitment to working in partnership with a variety of stakeholders. An ability to build relationships with donors and clearly communicate our mission is key. The ideal candidate will be proactive, self-directed, organized, and results-oriented.

This position is full time and based out of our main office in San Francisco. This position is benefits eligible.

Key Responsibilities

  • Using sound fundraising principles, steward, cultivate, and solicit a portfolio of ~150+ households, composed mainly of current $1,000-$5,000 donors as well as prospects capable of making a gift of this level or higher. For current donors, deploy a strategic focus on personal touchpoints to increase affinity, loyalty, and level of donation.
  • In partnership with the leadership team and President, support stewardship and pipeline meetings through strategy, tracking, and administrative support.
  • Working with the Director of Digital Marketing, manage the annual communications calendar, ensuring monthly and quarterly communications are developed and disseminated by the team appropriately. Ensure a strong development presence and customer service process on the website, in communications, and in social media.
  • Lead execution of BGCSFโ€™s spring and year-end fundraising appeals, managing logistics, work with the Marketing team, and manage vendor relationships.
  • Plan and implement events and activities (tours, receptions, friend-raisers, etc.) for individual donors, using existing activities as appropriate.
  • Ensure best-in-class donor stewardship and customer service to all donors, including clear and timely tracking of all donor communications in CRM.
  • Provide regular qualitative and quantitative reporting and analysis to leadership, highlighting areas of concern and opportunities for growth.
  • Support signature events and other special fundraising events with duties as assigned and on-site participation on the night of the event (e.g., seating, check-in, wayfinding, etc). Solicits portfolio donors for event ticket purchases, sponsorships, auction purchases, and gifts to fund-a-need.

  • Ability to work with the senior management team and Board members
