Job description

Senior Cloud Engineer (Cloud Systems Integration Lead)
Indigo Industries, LLC โ€” Arlington, VA (on-site, ~15โ€“25% travel)
Clearance: TS/SCI
Salary: $160,000 โ€“ $200,000 What you'll do
Indigo Industries supports APEX, a DoD experimentation program that puts new technologies in front of warfighters and measures how they perform. We're hiring a hands-on cloud engineer to lead how APEX's knowledge- and data-management tools get deployed into the government's classified cloud environments (JCDE / Morpheus). You'll be the technical lead who makes the integration actually work โ€” architecting the deployment, standing up secure pipelines, and serving as the go-to engineer at experimentation sites. Core responsibilities
โ€ข Architect and deploy APEX cloud capabilities into classified environments, including edge compute integration.
โ€ข Build and manage secure CI/CD pipelines and network layouts across high- and low-side environments.
โ€ข Drive the security and compliance path โ€” RMF, ATO lifecycle, and frameworks like NIST, FedRAMP, and CMMC.
โ€ข Integrate with external DoD networks and databases: APIs, data schemas, feature requests.
โ€ข Provide on-site technical support and SME guidance at experimentation locations.
โ€ข Translate mission requirements into technical specs for enterprise IT partners. What you need (required)
โ€ข Active TS/SCI clearance โ€ข 8+ years in cloud/systems engineering (strong candidates with 5+ years and direct DoD experience considered).
โ€ข Hands-on experience with AWS and/or Azure in classified environments.
โ€ข Proven experience with DoD RMF, ATO, and DevSecOps processes.
โ€ข IAT/IAM Level II or III cert (Security+, CISSP, or CISM).
โ€ข Bachelor's in Computer Science, IT, Cybersecurity, or related field. Nice to have
โ€ข A cloud architecture cert (AWS Solutions Architect, AWS DevOps Engineer, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, or Google Professional Cloud Architect).
โ€ข Experience with Test & Evaluation or Mission Engineering environments.
โ€ข Familiarity with DoD database management and data architecture for knowledge-management tools. Why work for Indigo?
At Indigo Industries, you'll do hands-on technical work on a mission that matters โ€” and we back that up with benefits that support your life outside of it: -Paid time off โ€” all federal holidays plus three weeks of accrued paid vacation.
-Employer-paid health insurance โ€” Indigo currently covers the individual health insurance premium for eligible employees after a 30-day waiting period. Full plan details, including health coverage and available dental and vision options, are provided at hire.
-Retirement savings โ€” SIMPLE IRA with up to 3% employer matching after a 30-day waiting period.
