Job description

Salary:

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The G-3 Air/Fires Joint Terminal Attack Controller Instructor/Evaluator (JTAC-I/E) Subject Matter Expert (SME) / Task Lead provides senior-level instructional, evaluation, and operational support to Marine Forces Special Operations Command (MARFORSOC) in support of the commands JTAC program and Air/Fires mission set.


In addition to serving as a JTAC-I/E SME, this role performs Task Lead duties as an additional responsibility, acting as the on-site single point of contact for contract execution. The individual balances operational fires training, instructor/evaluator responsibilities, and day-to-day coordination with government leadership to ensure mission success, personnel readiness, and contract compliance.


This position is contingent upon contract award.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

JTAC-I/E SME Responsibilities

  • Provide JTAC instruction, training, and evaluation support to MARFORSOC personnel in accordance with applicable JTAC guidance and command directives.
  • Support JTAC and JTAC-I/E simulator training, range operations, and mission rehearsal events.
  • Provide instruction to JTACs under instruction during Mission Qualification Training (MQT), Unit Level Training (ULT), and other directed training events.
  • Conduct JTAC evaluations (when qualified) of MARFORSOC and other service personnel as directed by JTAC Program leadership.
  • Serve as the commands primary integrator for kinetic strike training, coordinating with contract instructors, simulation support organizations, and training participants.
  • Perform required training to attain and maintain Range Safety Officer (RSO) qualifications and execute RSO duties during training events.
  • Assist with range and asset scheduling in coordination with JTAC Program leadership.
  • Support JTAC program management, including qualification tracking, administrative requirements, and readiness reporting.
  • Provide immediate response and substantiating documentation for any CAS malfunction, accident, or safety incident involving contractor personnel.


Task Lead Responsibilities (Additional Duty)

  • Serve as the on-site Task Lead and single point of contact with the Government Contracting Officers Representative (COR) and designated technical representatives.
  • Manage day-to-day operations and administration of the task order, ensuring requirements are met within allocated resources.
  • Coordinate and supervise contract personnel supporting geographically dispersed locations.
  • Balance cost, schedule, and technical performance while maintaining mission effectiveness.
  • Communicate regularly with government stakeholders to identify issues, resolve concerns, and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Provide accurate inputs for required monthly and quarterly contract reporting.


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Held or exceeded a JTAC-I qualification as a uniformed service member in accordance with service JTAC guidance.
  • JTAC-I/E qualification must have occurred within the last 48 months.
  • Minimum two (2) years of experience as a SOF JTAC.
  • Prior exercise or contingency deployment experience supporting kinetic strike or strike cell operations within USSOCOM or other joint commands.
  • Demonstrated ability to instruct, mentor, and evaluate JTACs in classroom, simulator, and field environments.
  • Proven experience coordinating fires training and integrating multiple stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage personnel and tasks in a high-tempo operational environment.
  • Served a minimum of one (1) year at military grade E-7 or higher, or equivalent leadership experience.


SECURITY CLEARANCE:

  • Active SECRET clearance required on Day 1 of contract execution.
  • Ability to obtain TS/SCI within 12 months of contract start.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a CAC and comply with all DoD security and OPSEC requirements.


DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Prior experience serving in a JTAC program management or senior fires leadership role.
  • Experience coordinating joint or coalition fires training and exercises.
  • Previous Task Lead, team lead, or equivalent supervisory experience on a DoD contract.
  • Familiarity with MARFORSOC JTAC qualification tracking and reporting processes.
